Job Summary:

Vail Resorts is looking to hire an Analyst, Visitation Analytics. The Visitation Analytics & Insights team leverages Vail Resorts’ proprietary guest data to understand visitation behavior and generate insights that drive value for the business. The team informs strategic decisions across the enterprise and partners closely with Resort Marketing, Finance, and other stakeholders. In this role, you will analyze large datasets, build clear reporting, and translate findings into concise, actionable recommendations.

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $68,545.70 - $85,000.00

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analysis & Reporting Build, maintain, and distribute reporting on guest visitation, acquisition, and behavior; analyze performance drivers and synthesize insights to inform decision making.
  • Dashboards & Data Sources Partner with data enablement/engineering teams to develop and iterate on dashboards and curated data sources.
  • Strategic Analysis Explore historical data and evolving trends; size opportunities to grow/retain guests. Support strategic planning and in-season execution.
  • Forecasting Support Contribute to weekly/monthly visitation tracking, scenario analysis, and budget/forecast support in partnership with senior analysts, managers, and Finance.
  • Data Quality & Documentation Perform QA on datasets, ensure reproducibility of analysis, and document logic/assumptions for cross-functional partners.
  • Presentation Translate analysis into clear, concise summaries and visualizations tailored to the audience; highlight implications and recommended actions.
  • Prioritization Manage a varied workload and communicate proactively with your manager to balance recurring reporting, proactive analysis, and ad-hoc requests.
  • Collaboration Work cross-functionally with Resort Marketing, Channel Owners, and Finance to align on hypotheses, metrics, and success criteria for initiatives.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong quantitative and problem-solving skills; proven ability to work with large datasets and translate results into actionable insights.
  • Proficiency in SQL and a modern data visualization tool (e.g., Tableau).
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for analysis and executive ready storytelling.
  • Clear, concise written and verbal communication; ability to adapt the message to technical and nontechnical audiences; strong relationship building skills.
  • Strong organization and time management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects and coordinate across functions in a fast-paced environment.

 

Preferred:

  • 1–2 years of experience in analytics, consulting, finance, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with forecasting, trend analysis, and performance reporting in a business context.

 

The expected Total Compensation for this role is $68,545.70 - $85,000.00. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.

Vail Resorts offers a ‘Hybrid’ work environment where employees living within 50 miles of the Broomfield office work on-site Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday and have flexibility to work off-site on Mondays and Fridays.  Employees living outside of a commutable distance can work remotely from British Columbia, Washington D.C., and the 16 U.S. states* in which we currently operate.
