Job Summary:

The Child Care Lead Educator if responsible for developing a cohesive teaching team, coordinating the curriculum and managing the day-to-day operational activities of the classroom.  The Lead Educator must understand children’s cognitive, social, emotional and physical development in order to ensure a safe and stimulating classroom environment where children are actively engaged and encouraged to succeed.  The Lead Educator must be skilled in communicating with both children and adults in order to meet the needs of the children, effectively guide assisting teachers and support relationships with families.  This position will comply with all company and department policies along with following all state licensing regulations.

  • Shift & Schedule Availability:  Full Time, Year Round
  • Skill Level: Intermediate 

 

Job Responsibility:

  • Coordinate and implement educational curriculum by developing classroom activities based on developmentally appropriate practices and early learning standards.
  • Lead by example; encourage teaching team success through modeling and coaching.
  • Plan individual and group age-appropriate activities to actively engage children and encourage social, cognitive and emotional growth.
  • Maintain frequent communications with parents through informal discussions, progress reports and parent-teacher conferences.
  • Ensure all center policies and state regulations are met.
  • Ensure a healthy classroom environment – including maintaining appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards and safety and security of children.
  • Supervise assisting teachers to ensure they follow planned activities, hygiene and safety standards.
  • Maintain accurate records, forms and files.
  • Maintain personal professional development plan in accordance with State Requirements and to ensure continuous quality improvement.
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Associate’s Degree in Early Childhood Education, or equivalent college credits approved by state licensing 
  • At least 1 year of professional child care experience
  • 1 year of experience managing a classroom
  • In Person Infant/Child First Aid and CPR Certification (must be obtained within 4 weeks of start date)
  • Ability to handle a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work well with others and foster a team environment.
  • Strong understanding of child development, and open to continued professional development.
  • Excellent leadership, organizational and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills and basic computer skills.
  • Ability to follow all procedures and guidelines as outlined in the staff manual and employee handbook.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Must clear full background check

 

 

The expected pay range is $22.0 - $23.76. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
