Job Summary:

Come join our food and beverage leadership team as Assistant General Manager, responsible for maintaining/improving the quality of the dining and meeting experience for our lodging and conference guests at beautiful One Ski Hill Place, located at the base of Peak 8.  This position reports directly to the General Manager of food and beverage at One Ski Hill Place and is a member of the leadership team of Breckenridge Hospitality Food and Beverage.  The position will also assist our Banquet and Catering Services Teams.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively and professionally with the chef and culinary team, conference services team, sales team and other lodging departments to deliver a guest experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Continually train team on execution of presentation and service brand standards as defined by the company.
  • Responsible for guest satisfaction, upholding and improving upon standards, and financial performance of the food and beverage operation.
  • Responsible for scheduling, hiring, and discipline of all food and beverage front of house staff and occasionally back of house staff if needed.
  • Operate facilities at proper staffing levels for all seasons.
  • Responsible for payroll execution, including tips, to ensure front of house team members are paid accurately and timely.
  • Ordering and inventory control of food and beverage supplies as applicable.
  • Ensure facilities and employees have necessary tools and equipment to effectively do their jobs.
  • Ensure that operation fully supports initiatives with corporate strategic partners by giving outstanding representation to their product.
  • Maintain and continue to develop an amicable working relationship with the Mtn. Food and Dining team.
  • Separate and discipline front of house staff, following company procedures.  Post available jobs.  Define performance requirements and develop action plans for achievement of goals.  Hold monthly staff meetings and training for the proper techniques and etiquette. Monitor staff performance through coaching, counseling, and progressive discipline.  Define performance standards.
  • Product Management: effectively inventory, purchase, and manage all necessary resources to maintain and/or improve quality standards.  Hold staff accountable to standards including TIPS alcohol procedures. Complete knowledge of F&B operations including bar service.  Accountable for daily operation, production and security of facility, equipment, and company assets.
  • Leadership Responsibility: lead by example. Participative management style with hands-on work ethic. Form cohesive team encompassing all staff members. Daily supervision of all staff members. Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of all functions with the kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staffs, as well as the guest.
  • Maintain, at all times, a professional and approachable demeanor with all internal and external guests.
  • Complete a timely and accurate monthly inventory on all alcohol items.
  • Be knowledgeable of and adhere to all applicable federal, state, local and corporate safety and health regulations/ standards.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment for employees
  • Ensure all F&B standards are upheld while providing an extraordinary experience on a daily basis for the guests and employees of our properties
  • Work as a member of the property leadership team and in a manner that prioritizes the success of the overall lodging property first and foremost.
  • Must be knowledgeable of proper food safety and sanitation guidelines.
  • Effectively communications with client and team to include event status updates, bill review for completed events, and general positive rapport
  • Assist with the management and execution of the daily event agenda as detailed in the Banquet Event Orders.
  • .Must maintain the organization, stock levels, cleanliness, and effectiveness of every banquet function space, storage area, and service station
  • Completes all duties properly and in a timely manner.  Seeks out additional responsibilities when work assigned is complete.
  • Practices safe work habits in all types of duties and with all equipment.    
  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation. 
  • Schedule flexibility of afternoons, nights, weekends and holidays with the understanding of longer days for banquets and events.

 

 Job Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent – required
  • BS Degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternate.
  • Minimum 4 years Food and beverage experience - required
  • Minimum 1 years supervisory experience - required
  • Colorado driver's license - required
  • Experienced and comfortable with computers - required
  • Experience with Purchasing software & MS office suite - strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English - required
  • TIPS certification required within 30 days of employment
  • Ability to lift and carry 40+ lbs, walk and stand for long periods of time
  • Must be available to work holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, December 26th through January 2nd, Presidents’ Day Weekend, and any other holidays as requested. – required
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, understand and comprehend English fluently. -required
  • High School Diploma or equivalent experience. -required
  • Minimum of 2 year experience in banquets and/or conference services. –preferred
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written form to guests, managers and employees. -required
  • Must be TIPS certified or able to become TIPS certified within 30 days of hire. -required
  • Must be able to stand and walk up to 8 hours at a time. -required
  • Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings. –required

The expected pay range is $56,485.00 - $66,056.71 Annually. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
