Come join our lively food and beverage team as banquet manager, responsible for maintaining/improving the quality of the meeting and dining experience for our conference guests at two outstanding locations: The Village at Breckenridge and Mountain Thunder Lodge. This position reports directly to the director of food and beverage for Breckenridge Hospitality and is a member of the leadership team for both resorts. As such, the position has dotted line reporting to the General Managers of both locations.

Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Work collaboratively and expertly with the executive chef and culinary team, conference services team, sales team and other lodging departments to deliver a guest experience that exceeds expectations.
  • Continually train banquet team on execution of presentation and service brand standards as defined by the company.
  • Responsible for guest happiness, upholding and improving upon standards, and financial performance of the banquet departments at both locations.
  • Responsible for scheduling, hiring, and discipline of all food and beverage/banquet, front of house staff.
  • Operate facilities at accurate staffing levels for all seasons.
  • Responsible for payroll execution to ensure front of house team members are paid accurately and timely.
  • Ordering and inventory control of food and beverage supplies as applicable.
  • Ensure facilities and employees have vital tools and equipment to effectively do their jobs.
  • Ensure that operation fully supports initiatives with corporate strategic partners by giving outstanding representation to their product.
  • Maintain and continue to develop an amicable working relationship with the Mountain Food and Dining team.
  • Financial Responsibility: develop, implement, and handle controls for labor, cost of sales, and operational expenses to meet or improve upon budgeted margins while maintaining quality standards. Participate in forecasting and budgeting. Review, analyze, and explain profit & loss statements. Perform billing in a timely & accurate manner.
  • Human Resource Responsibility: hire, train, develop, appraise, separate and discipline front of house staff, following company procedures. Post available jobs. Define performance requirements and develop action plans for achievement of goals. Hold monthly staff meetings and training for the proper techniques and etiquette. Monitor staff performance through coaching, counseling, and progressive direction. Define performance standards.
  • Product Management: effectively inventory, purchase, and handle all vital resources to maintain and/or improve quality standards. Hold staff accountable to standards including TIPS alcohol procedures. Complete knowledge of F&B operations including bar service. Accountable for daily operation, production and security of facility, equipment, and company assets.
  • Leadership Responsibility: lead by example. Participative management style with hands-on work ethic. Form cohesive team encompassing all staff members. Daily supervision of all staff members. Verbally communicate, in a calm, positive demeanor, during the course of all functions with the kitchen, service, beverage, conventions services, and engineering staffs, as well as the guest.
  • Maintain, at all times, a professional and approachable demeanor with all internal and external guests.
  • Complete a timely and accurate monthly inventory on all alcohol items.
  • Be knowledgeable of and enforce to all applicable federal, state, local and corporate safety and health regulations/ standards.
  • Provide and maintain a safe work environment for employees
  • Ensure all F&B standards are upheld while providing an extraordinary experience daily for the guests and employees of our properties
  • Work as a member of the property leadership team and in a manner that prioritizes the success of the overall lodging property first and foremost.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent – required
  • BS Degree is preferred. A combination of practical experience and education will be considered as an alternate.
  • Minimum 6 years Food and beverage experience - required
  • Minimum 2 years supervisory experience - required
  • Colorado driver's license - required
  • Experienced and comfortable with computers - required
  • Experience with Purchasing software & MS office suite - strongly preferred
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English - required
  • TIPS certification required within 30 days of employment, ServSafe certification within 3 months

 

The budgeted range starts at $43,000-$49,450.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
