Job Summary:
As the Lead Electrician, you will coordinate projects, analyze repairs/solutions needed, and collaborate effectively as a part of the Building Maintenance Department.  We are looking for a candidate that is positive, self-motivated, detailed oriented, and can be a quality leader on our staff.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $24.15/hr - $41.05/hr 
  • Employment Type: Year Round  
  • Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time hours available 
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Provide preventative and predictive maintenance of electrical systems, conduct daily rounds and readings.
  • Perform successful installation and repair of electrical systems and wiring including but not limited to power distribution systems, LED lighting systems, control systems, control panels, components of machinery and equipment, data and low voltage systems.
  • Complete daily work orders as assigned and update team with daily reports outlining progress and new issues.
  • Maintain inventories of electrical materials.
  • Participate in winterization and spring start-ups on applicable systems.
  • Troubleshoot problems and provide technical assistance to staff in solving maintenance, mechanical and repair problems. 
  • Ensure that work complies with applicable codes and regulations. 
  • Read diagrams, blueprints, specifications and manuals for installations and repairs. 
  • Interprets company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
  • Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
  • Suggest changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or techs.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists techs in solving work problems.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to motivate techs to achieve work goals.
  • Use standard office equipment including a computer in the course of work
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • 4 years electrical trade school; Journeyman with 2 years minimum hands-on commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to perform a wide variety of maintenance and operational tasks.
  • Ability to troubleshoot controls and electrical systems with amp meters, voltmeters, tracers and recording devices.
  • Ability to read electrical schematics, electrical prints, wiring diagrams and nameplates.
  • Ability to troubleshoot variable frequency drive (VFD) devices and controls.
  • Thorough understanding of low voltage and high voltage systems.
  • Thorough understanding of single phase and three phase AC circuits.
  • Understanding of electrical, NEC or NFPA 70 codes.
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to pass a Motor Vehicle Record check.
  • Ability to determine problems and effectively manage/troubleshoot issues in a timely fashion.
  • Must possess willingness to work as a team member and aid the overall needs of the department.
  • Ability to communicate effectively and clearly with customers and all levels of staff.
  • Proficient computer skills in programs necessary to accomplish assigned duties.
  • Visual acuity necessary to prepare and analyze data and figures for reporting, computer terminal use and reading.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to use ladders, scaffolding, and/or scissor lift while performing duties.
  • Possess high degree of sensitivity to accepted workplace safety practices.
  • Must be able to perform heavy work (defined as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.  Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

  • Intermediate skiing and/or snowboarding ability

The expected pay range is $24.15/hr - $41.05/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
