Job Summary:

The Director of Resort Operations provides complete oversight, management and leadership of all aspects of Base Area Operations up to but not limited to Base Operations across four communities, Parking Lots/Garages, Public Safety.  Additionally, the position could serve as an Association Manager or Association Operations Managers for various common interest associations in Beaver Creek, Bachelor Gulch, Arrowhead and Red Sky Ranch.

Job Responsibilities:

Operations

  • Be responsible for business performance and goals of the Base Operations teams including expense management, capital projects and revenue generation.
  • Ensure that the daily operations of Base Operations team achieves Resort Standards as well as contractual obligations.
  • Ensure contractual obligations are met in the execution of resort operations in BC, BG, AH, & RSR including Strawberry Park and the Village at Arrowhead Associations.
  • Function as a Project Manager for a variety of complex maintenance and capital projects across all communities.
  • Lead and drive Epic Promise initiatives for the resort and Resort Operation’s team; lead and drive sustainability initiatives at the resort and enterprise level.
  • Oversee planning and execution of capital improvements supporting Vail Resorts initiatives and Association/District objectives, coordinate contracts and work performance with third party vendors.
  • Coordinate Base Operations services with other Vail Resorts Departments and all third party relationships.
  • Coordinate planning and operations as well as build and sustain strong, positive relationships with key community stakeholders including city, county, state & federal government agencies, and home owners associations.
  • Lead a safety culture focused on reduction of employee and guest incidents to achieve safety goals.
  • Function as an Association Manager including preparation for Board meetings and conducting all Association Business in accordance with applicable governance standards.
  • Effectively serve and lead in various Board director capacities on community and special district governance boards.

  • Successfully recruit, hire, coach, motivate and develop a management team and high potential talent. Ensure leadership team is aligned with Vail Resorts goals, values, and stakeholders.

  • Build and sustain strong, positive relationships with key community stakeholders. This includes (but is not limited to community advocacy groups - leading these groups toward alignment with key resort and company goals and initiatives.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; advanced degree preferred.
  • Experience in a leadership role with full budget accountability, team management, and external relationship oversight.
  • In-person role with flexibility for weekends, holidays, and operational needs.

 

The expected pay range is $86,000 - $120,000 + annual bonus + equity. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
