Job Summary:
The Senior Manager for Alpine Valley Resort will be responsible for leading and overseeing the resort’s day-to-day operations, reporting directly to the General Manager of the Northeast Ohio ski resorts (Boston Mills, Brandywine, and Alpine Valley). This role will provide strategic leadership and operational oversight across multiple functions, including safety, mountain operations, food and beverage, ski and snowboard school, base operations, guest services, and community relations.

 

As a member of the BMBWAV (Boston Mills, Brandywine, & Alpine Valley) Senior Leadership Team, the Senior Manager will collaborate closely with peers, actively contributing to shared goals and initiatives that drive impact across all three resorts and the enterprise. This role also coordinates with matrix teams in finance, sales & marketing, communications, human resources, and governmental affairs, as well as center-of-excellence teams in Food & Beverage, Ski and Ride School, and Product Sales and Services. This is a key leadership position focused on enhancing guest experiences, improving operational efficiency, and fostering strong community and team engagement within the resort network.

Job Responsibilities:

Drive Results:

  • Set and adjust priorities in a dynamic environment, maintaining flexibility and focus on key business goals.
  • Assume full accountability for Alpine Valley’s business performance, including revenue generation and expense management, meeting or exceeding set metrics and targets.
  • Drive collaborative leadership across both direct operational functions and indirect matrix partners, including Food & Beverage, Product Sales & Services, Ski & Ride School, Rental/Retail, Mountain Ops, Marketing & Communications, IT, Finance, and HR.
  • Recruit, hire, and develop a high-caliber resort team, ensuring alignment with Vail Resorts' strategic goals, values, and standards.
  • Maintain up-to-date resort records, secure necessary permits, and ensure all ski areas comply with local, state, and federal regulations, as well as internal policies.

  • Complete other duties and provide support as needed.

 

Job Requirements:

  • 4+ years in a leadership role within the hospitality, travel, or leisure industry
  • 2+ years managing multiple departments within the hospitality, travel, or leisure industry
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office Suite
  • Strong written communication and public speaking skills
  • Demonstrated financial management proficiency

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Training in leadership, performance management, and goal setting
  • Knowledge of compliance areas regulated by oversight agencies

 

The expected pay range is $68,545 - $90,333 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
