The Ski and Snowboard School Supervisor is responsible for promoting workplace safety programs, assignment of ski school products to instructors, instructor on-hill observations to review product quality offering feedback and systemic evaluations. Responsible for regular interaction with guests to solicit feedback, resolve conflicts, and accommodate.

 

Job Summary: 

This position will oversee the day-to-day operations in the Ski & Snowboard School including:  class management, lists, and instructor schedules to Ski School Programming at Afton Alps this winter.  You will work closely with the Product Sales & Service Team for necessary data to effectively create classes for programming. You will be responsible for promoting workplace safety programs, assignments of products to instructors, and on hill observations to ensure a quality product. 

 

Ski & Snowboard School Supervisor responsibilities include:

  • Provide excellent Guest Service while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced, vibrant environment.
  • Instructor scheduling to fairly administer work priority status and business needs, while managing labor budgets for financial success.
  • Work on a computer with a high degree of accuracy and efficient speed.
  • Perform daily sales and closing and be held responsible for your end of day point of sale audit
  •   Communicate with other cross-functional teams to create an environment of support and trust that will benefit staff and guests

 

    What you will be doing:

  • Oversee a team of office staff to ensure product and scheduling accuracy.
  • Develop a process for accurate lesson execution from the purchase to the day of the lesson.
  • Using computer programs to create and fulfill reservations, including Private Lessons, in a timely and organized manner.
  • Manage inventory levels for products and communicate status to Sales Agents for all programming
  • Managing instructor assignments and schedule.
  • Staff communications including daily pre shift safety meetings, instructor messaging and Ski School Leadership team participation and communication.
  • Coordinate with multiple departments to answer operational questions and meet the needs of our guests.
  • Assisting other departments with responsibilities as they arise such as fulfilling tickets, shoveling snow, etc.
  • Staying up to date on all products, policies and operations in order to provide the highest level of guest service at all times.
  • To continually strive to exceed our guest’s expectations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

  • Lead and Mentor a team.
  • Punctual, in uniform, and adhere to all Vail Resorts policies.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required
  • High level of interpersonal skills to ensure: teamwork, high level guest contact, fact finding for appropriate decision making, commitment to guest service and employee relations.
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year.  Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends.
  • Must demonstrate ability to receive direction and act upon it
  • Must be 18 years of age

 

Preferred Skills:

  • A passion for snow sports.
  • Excellent communication skills and problem-solving ability.
  • The ability to work effectively with dynamic and constantly changing information.
  • Good knowledge of computer systems, Word, Excel and Outlook preferred
  • Broad experience in various aspects of customer service preferred
  • Team player, enthusiastic, positive attitude.
  • Keen to learn new skills, open-minded.
