Summary of Job: The housekeeping team at Afton Alps is responsible for ensuring our guests have a clean and comfortable environment. The team executes this by ensuring all areas of Afton are clean and fully stocked. Assisting with any guest or employee problems to maintain a safe and clean environment. They will be stationed at every chalet, working with the kitchen supervisor and bussers to ensure the chalet, restaurants, and bathrooms are clean and presentable throughout the day, and working with James to ensure buildings are stocked and organized. Support staff would monitor the building, and would walk around with James or other management to talk about what has been done, and what needs to get done.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

 

  • Ability to provide outstanding guest service.
  • Maintain bathroom cleanliness – clean toilets and urinals, clean floor, wipe down counters, ledges and mirrors, and maintaining stock supplies
  • Responsible for stocking restroom supplies including toilet paper, paper towels, soap, etc.
  • Empty and replenish trash/recycling/compost receptacles, both inside and out, along with wiping down the tops and sides of said receptacles, and ensuring correct waste bags go in the correct unit
  • Cleanliness of restaurants including vacuuming, cleaning, bussing and wiping down tables and chairs, making sure trays are being collected and washed, wiping down windows and door glass with window cleaner as needed, and assisting guests.
  • Maintain overall cleanliness of kitchen, kitchen equipment, and work area.
  • Stock supplies, such as food and/or utensils in serving stations, cupboards, refrigerators, and grab n’ go areas.
  • Transfer equipment from storage areas to work stations.
  • Maintaining floor cleanliness, be it sweeping or Hoking during business hours or vacuuming after hours or during slow periods. Pick up trash and wrappers from floor at the end of night and putting up chairs at end of night, taking them down in the morning so Janitor Company can clean overnight.
  • In chalets where there is a locker room, maintaining locker room cleanliness and picking up trash / sweeping and mopping floors as needed, and dusting off the tops of lockers
  • Inspecting and wiping down the walls, looking for dirt, dust, and spider webs
  • Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including the completion of all company mandated safety-related training and assessments.
  • Assist other departments, as needed.

Job Requirements:

  • Must be 18 or older with valid driver’s license to drive company vehicles, stick shift knowledge preferable. If no past experience, will train.
  • Good team player, able to work with both management, and kitchen supervisors, to utilize chalet bussers and work with the bussers to maintain building cleanliness.
  • Certified Slip Resistant shoes are required prior to starting work. Shoes must be provided by the employee.
  • Knowledge about common cleaning supplies, and how to use them properly
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Must be good at self-motivation, and detail oriented, able to seek out tasks and looking for jobs to do during both down time, and peak business hours.
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year.  Must be willing to work evenings, holidays and weekends – Required
  • High level of interpersonal skills to ensure: teamwork, high level guest contact, and service.
  • Must demonstrate ability to receive and give direction and act upon it.
