Position Status: Full Time (40 hours/week) Year Round, Hourly.


Job Summary:

You will plan, implement, and monitor the Maintenance training program.

This will include the pre-season refresher and safety training.  You will also facilitate and monitor Trades and Operational training year round.  Develop a lift specific training plan to cover, safety systems, station setup, grip assembly, brake setup, rope inspection, trouble shooting, evac and standby drive operation.


What you’ll be doing:

  • To continually strive to create an experience of a lifetime for our employees so they can in turn provide an exceptional experience for our guests.
  • Overseeing Apprenticeship Training
  • Create and maintain a learning passport to track team and individual performance
  • Liaise with Health and Safety to stay on top of current safety policy
  • Audit and update maintenance SOPs and SOCs
  • Plan and facilitate preseason training.
  • Ensure venues and trainers are in place for training week.
  • Ensure all participants (trainees & trainers) are prepared.
  • Develop & implement training for new maintenance employees.
  • Develop Operations training schedule and monitor throughout the year to be implemented on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and monitor simple and easy to use training documentation system
  • Assess development needs for all levels.
  • Monitor program effectiveness and strive for continual improvement.
  • Actively participate in day to day maintenance duties.

  • Maintenance experience at Whistler/Blackcomb.
  • Millwright or Electrical Trades Red Seal mandatory
  • Computer skills including working knowledge of Excel Spreadsheet
  • OFA Level 3 preferred
  • Very well organized.
  • Thrives in a fast paced environment.
  • Leadership skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills both written and oral.
  • An innovative thinker with a creative flare.
  • Ability to make the best use of limited time
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
