Job Summary:

The Assistant Manager at the GLC plays a key role in delivering a high-energy après and nightlife experience while supporting daily restaurant and bar operations. This is a hands-on leadership position responsible for driving service standards, supporting large-scale events, and ensuring smooth execution in a fast-paced, high-volume environment

 

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $52,000.00 - $66,726.40  
  • Employment Type: Summer Seasonal 2026 
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

Operations & Floor Leadership

  • Actively manage the floor during service
  • Monitor labour, sales, and flow of service to optimize efficiency and guest satisfaction
  • Ensure compliance with all liquor laws, health & safety standards, and company policies
  • Troubleshoot operational issues in real time and finding solutions (staffing gaps, guest concerns, product shortages)
  • Support inventory processes including ordering, receiving, and stock organization
  • Maintain venue presentation: cleanliness, music levels, lighting, and overall atmosphere
  • Help implement daily features, promotions, and après activations

 

Event Management

  • Support execution of live events, DJs, and entertainment programming
  • Coordinate with internal teams, promoters, and talent to ensure smooth event delivery
  • Oversee event setup and breakdown (AV, staging, floor plans, staffing levels)
  • Manage guest flow and capacity during peak events, ensuring safety and experience standards
  • Act as a key point of contact during events to resolve issues quickly and professionally
  • Assist with post-event reporting and continuous improvement of event execution

 

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and support front-of-house team members including servers, bartenders, hosts, and support staff
  • Provide on-the-spot coaching and feedback to improve performance and consistency
  • Help onboard and train new staff on service standards and systems
  • Foster a positive, energetic team culture aligned with the GLC brand

 

Job Requirements:

  • 1–3 years of leadership experience in high-volume bar, restaurant, or nightlife environments
  • Strong understanding of bar operations and event-driven service models
  • Proven ability to multitask and stay composed under pressure
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Serving It Right certification required
