Job Summary:  

As an Event Host, you’ll be part of a team focused on the daily tasks involved in the operations of our on-mountain athletic events from the setup of the site, through to the execution of the event to tear down and clean up. You will gain valuable work experience and learn efficient work practices which will be transferable to many future employment opportunities.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $20.00/hr

  • Shift Type: Full Time and Part Time,and Holiday Help hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities:

  • Act as a Whistler Blackcomb ambassador at all times by staying informed on event details and delivering outstanding guest service.
  • Assist in the construction and teardown of event venues, including scaffolding, fencing, banners, tents, cabling, branding, and more.
  • Manage on-mountain transportation and logistics, ensuring proper storage, maintenance, and organization of all event assets.
  • Perform various race and event official roles, including starter, timer, assistant timer, course setting, and chief of competition.
  • Keep all event venues safe, functional, and clean for athletes, guests, and staff.
  • Conduct regular inspections and report damage or safety concerns in a timely and effective manner.
  • Maintain storage areas at both mountain and valley locations.
  • Communicate clearly and professionally via phone, email, and radio.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Outgoing personality with a guest first mindset.
  • Advanced skiing or snowboarding ability is essential; must be comfortable on challenging terrain while carrying gear.
  • Experience using power tools (e.g., drills, saws).
  • Capable of working long hours in alpine conditions (cold, snow, wind, sun)
  • Ability to lift/carry up to 50lbs. 
  • events or sports experience is a strong asset.
  • Level I race officials certification an asset.
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
  • Resume is required.
