Job Summary:

To assist in the creation of the safest environment possible for our guests and staff. To ensure that the SLOW ZONES are well marked and monitored.

 

Job Specifications: 

  

  • Starting Wage: $60,433.00 - $83,356.00 
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027  
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities: 

  • To continually strive to exceed our Guest’s expectations and to create memories for guests and staff as the best mountain experience.
  • Actively participate in the creation of the safest environment possible for our guests and staff.
  • Hire, train and schedule full-time and volunteer staff.
  • Ensure smooth day to day operations.
  • Celebrate success and recognize excellence. Detect and correct problems.
  • Ensure that the Mountain Safety Team is adequately supplied and that payroll is accurate.
  • Educate staff and guests about safety.
  • Ensure that offenders are treated fairly and consistently with enforcement. When required, follow up with consequences and education.
  • Handle conflictive situations with our on-mountain guests diplomatically and efficiently.
  • Create positive working relationship between the Mountain Safety Team and other staff members.
  • To provide guests with knowledge about access and proper use of mountain facilities.
  • Be knowledgeable of Whistler community and resort activities. Liaise with Clubs, Agencies and other communityorganisations to deliver safety information.
  • To be an active team member, and to input ideas that might enhance the guest/employee experience at Whistler Blackcomb. Be proactive with new safety initiatives.
  • We are a company that works together and throughout the season you may be required to assist other departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned

Job Requirements: 

  • Occupational First Aid Level 3 with CPR endorsement or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous Mountain Safety Team member or professional ski patroller preferred
  • BC Driver’s License and Driver Abstract an asset.
  • Must possess good organizational and people skills.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal are key qualities. Be prepared to speak in front of large groups.
  • Strong computer skills are required.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Capable skier/snowboarder in all conditions.
  • Excellent knowledge of the Whistler Blackcomb terrain and Whistler Resort.
  • Experience in guest services.
  • Strong problem solving skills.
  • Ability to deal with large groups of people on a continual basis.
  • Responsible and willing to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to recognize inappropriate or reckless behaviour on the slopes
  • Ability to remain levelheaded in difficult situations.
  • Proof of clear criminal record check
