GUEST SERVICES

About Guest Services: The Whistler Blackcomb Guest Services team has a heart for people. They're conflict-resolving ninjas and can bring order to chaos like a boss. They are enthusiastic, focused, and passionate. As a large portion of Whistler Blackcomb front line employees, this team is our guest's first taste of WB. Which is why it is filled with people that love the mountains and exceed customer service expectations. They want to make our guests voices heard and work towards improving our products.

About You: You are someone that was built for customer service, you care about people and love to listen. You have the ability to empathize with people and work to make sure guests are happy. You have a go-getter attitude and can take charge when something needs to be dealt with. You feel comfortable being in leadership and helping out your co-workers whenever possible. You are a whiz on the computer and can do a little investigating when systems get confusing. You have a passion for the mountains but don't mind being indoors while you work as long as you get to play outdoors on your days off!

Guest Services offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in October. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. RETAIL RENTAL

About Retail Rental: The Whistler Blackcomb Retail Rental team is full of people who love the goods. These guys & girls get excited about the latest and greatest quality products and are passionate about sharing their knowledge with our guests. This team is all about customer service and ensuring WB guests get what fits their needs best. They are quick on their feet and thrive working in a fast paced environment. They don't mind being indoors, if it means getting outdoors and utilizing those quality products on their days off!

About You: Your friends often refer to you as the ‘know it all'- don't worry, we dig it. You have a passion for the products the mountain industry brings, whether its new Rossignol skis or Oakley googles you know what's the best and aren't shy to lets guests know! You have a natural knack for leadership and taking on responsibility doesn't worry you. You feel comfortable being the person people come to when they have questions or concerns. You are a true "People Person" and have an aptitude for sales!

Program Availability: Retail Rental offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in November. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. Applications for the Retail Rental Leadership Program will open on our website's Current Opportunities page in August.

OPERATIONS

About Operations: The Whistler Blackcomb Operations team is full of people that thrive in the outdoors. They love the mountains and work hard to make sure everything is running smoothly. You can find these guys & girls all over the mountain, whether it's loading you onto a chairlift, helping you out when you're hurt, or making that fluffy white stuff that we all love so much, and they always do it with a smile. This team is the epitome of a "work hard, play hard" life style!

About You: You have a natural aptitude for mechanics and for anything that doesn't come naturally to you, you are eager to learn. You think with a safety first mind set and complete all the work you do to your highest capability. You thrive in the outdoors and feel comfortable working in all-weather conditions. You like to work as part of a team and take direction well but when need be you are awesome at working independently and taking on projects. You are an intermediate skier or snowboarder and are stoked that this is a qualification of your job. You are physically fit and can handle manual tasks. You have a knowledge of the Whistler Blackcomb area and an understanding of groomed runs, grooming machines, implements, skidoos, trucks, and heavy machinery necessary for the positions. If you have snowmaking, skidoo, or snowcat experience this would be an asset. And last but not least, you have a positive attitude!

Program Availability: Operations offers one- 6 month Leadership Program per year, staring in October. Participant spends October- end of December in Snowmaking and January to May in Grooming (If you have met the Snowmaking expectations). Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. Applications for the Operations Internship will open on our website's Current Opportunities page in July. Participants must have a valid BC Driver's License and Drivers Abstract.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE

About Food & Beverage: The Whistler Blackcomb Food and Beverage team are as energetic and motivated as they come. The Front of the House team can strike up a conversation anytime- anywhere, smiling comes naturally to them, they thrive in a fast-paced environment. They are all about team work and work hard to ensure our restaurants are running as smooth as possible. They love living in the mountains and are passionate about the outdoors!

About You: You also thrive in a fast-paced environment, you are ambitious and approachable. You understand that every person on the team counts no matter what their roll. You are good at taking on responsibility and like helping out where you can to ensure your team is doing well. You have a way with people and can make almost anyone feel comfortable. You have a positive attitude and because of that smile A LOT. When things get hectic, you handle chaos like a boss.

Program Availability: Food & Beverage offers one- 6 month Leadership Position per year, starting in November. Applicants must be enrolled in or recently graduated from a Post- Secondary program in a related field. Applications for Food & Beverage Leadership Program will open on our website's Current Opportunities page in August.

LEADERSHIP PROGRAM

The Leadership Program is developed for students or recent grads that have a desire for a career in the Ski Resort Industry. We look for top students to place into lead hand and supervisor positions, working closely with each of them to help develop their career path. If you have a love for the mountains and are looking for an in to work where you play, the Leadership Program could be right for you. This program is only offered to Students or Recent Grads of recognized Canadian Post- Secondary Institutions.

The Leadership Program is hands on program that provides the following opportunities to its participants:

  • Orientation to the company and tour of WB facilities
  • Two Ski and Ride sessions with WB staff and other program members.
  • A Lunch & Learn with members if WB's Senior Leadership Team
  • Introductions and Bio of each program member in the company newsletter

These opportunities are a great way to get familiarized with every aspect of Whistler Blackcomb's operations and network with WB staff.

The Whistler Blackcomb Leadership Program is full time (30-40 hours per week) and runs in a six month period. All Leadership Programs are paid and allow eligibility for WB's staff housing dependent on availability. Program Perks include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts.
