PEAK EXPERIENCE PROGRAM

The Peak Experience Program is an opportunity tailored for our local High School Students in the Sea-to-Sky region that are between the age of 15 and 17. The program allows students to gain experience and exposure into entry level employment as they work in some of our key departments!

The Peak Experience Program is a paid program that requires 10 shifts or 100 hours over Whistler Blackcomb's peak holiday periods. Program Perks for students that work 10 or more shifts include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts, Food & Beverage discounts, and eligibility for the Whistler Blackcomb Scholarship Program. Program Perks for students that work 100 or more hours include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts, Food & Beverage discounts, eligibility for the Whistler Blackcomb Scholarship Program and one Course Credit.

FOOD & BEVERAGE
You're a real people person and can strike up a conversation anytime, anywhere. Smiling comes naturally and you thrive in a fast-paced environment. You love living in the mountains and are passionate about the outdoors. We want you to be a part of our energetic Food and Beverage team.

RETAIL /RENTAL
You love the goods. You get excited about the latest and greatest quality products. Your friends often refer to you as the ‘know it all'- don't worry, we dig it. You don't mind being indoors, as long as you get to play outside on your days off. You are ambitious, passionate and sociable- If this sounds like you then rentals is where you should be!

LIFT OPERATIONS
You thrive being outdoors. You love the mountains. You enjoy your free time and will work hard to have lots of it. You are adventure-seeking, ambitious and passionate. You have a desire to see how things run on a big scale, in order for our mountains to operate as smooth as they do. You work with a safety-first mind set and a smile on your face. Sounds like you belong on our ops team.

 

Applications for the Peak Experience Program can be submitted through your High School Career Counsellor in the Fall. Those selected will be offered an interview in-person in Whistler.

SNOW SCHOOL MENTORSHIP

Whistler Blackcomb's Snow School Mentorship is a unique experience tailed for the students that love to ski or ride! If you are a mountain enthusiast that has a passion for teaching this program could be for you. This mentorship provides a special view into Whistler Blackcomb's Snow School program and demonstrates to students what it's like to teach beginners on WB's outdoor playground! We look for applicants who are happy to share their love for the mountains, display patience, and are comfortable skiing or snowboarding.

This Mentorship runs from January to April and requires 12 shadow days with one of our Snow School Instructors. Please note this program is only offered to High School Student between the ages of 15 and 17 in the Sea-to-Sky region. This program is unpaid but the Perks include a Student Seasons Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts. Applications for the Snow School Mentorship open online in early December under the Current Postings Tab on our website. Those selected will be offered an interview either in-person in Whistler or over the phone.

BIKE PARK MENTORSHIP

Whistler Blackcomb's Bike Park Mentorship is a program designed for those mountain bike enthusiasts out there. We are looking for students that thrive being outdoors, love the mountains, and are psyched to play on Whistler's endless network of trails. If you have a passion for teaching, are a wiz with kids, and have an appetite for biking this could be the program for you. Students will be paired up with a Bike Park Instructor and will gain exposure into what it's like to teach beginner-intermediate kids on WB's outdoor playground!

This Mentorship runs from May to September and requires 6 shadow days with one of our Bike Park Instructors. Please note this program is only offered to High School Student between the ages of 15 and 17 in the Sea-to-Sky region. This program is unpaid but the Perks include a Seasons Bike Park Pass, Retail/Rental discounts and Food & Beverage discounts.

Applicants must be able to show competent biking skills on a minimum of Blue Trails in the Whistler Blackcomb Bike Park. With the completion of 6 shadow days, students will be given the option of taking the IDP Level 1 biking certification course which is required for future employment as a Bike Park Instructor. If students are successful in the Mentorship Program and the IDP Level 1 course they become eligible to be hired as a staff member for the following summer season.
