Full Time roles are eligible for the above, plus:

Job Summary:

The Vail Adaptive Ski Program provides lessons for people with disabilities. An Adaptive Assistant provides assistance to adaptive instructors and/or individuals with disabilities with chair lift loading, general orientation on the mountain, equipment transportation as well as integration into Children's Ski School classes. An Adaptive Assistant also provides assistance to independent skiers with a disability that might include navigation around the mountain, assisting the individual after a fall, general mountain safety and more.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Expected Pay Range: $20.00 - $21.36 / hour
  • Shift Availability: Part Time
  • Skill Level: Intermediate
    • ​​​​​​​Skiing/Snowboarding ability - must be minimum Level 6 (PSIA)

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Uphold the highest levels of guest safety on varied terrain with varying winter weather conditions.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate instructions and assistance on riding lifts.
  • Assist guests with transportation of equipment.
  • Assist in operational responsibilities of Ski & Snowboard programs including (but not limited to) registration process, directing guests to appropriate equipment fitting source, upkeep of outdoor teaching areas, and cleanliness of facilities.
  • Work with Lift Department employees in a collaborative manner to ensure the best guest experience.
  • Ski safely and in control at all times while on duty.
  • Be attentive to the needs of the guests and respond quickly and effectively to requests from Supervisors and Coordinators.
  • Answer any resort-specific questions from guests.
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate professionally to coworkers and guests.
  • Provide high level customer service to all guests.
  • Adhere to all policies, rules, and regulations of Vail Resorts.
  • Create and maintain a productive and safe work environment, including the completion of all company mandated safety-related training and assessments.
  • Ensure all ski school locations are clean and present a professional appearance to our guests, staff, and purveyors.
  • Assist other departments, as needed.
  • Adhere to and role model the company’s mission, vision, and values.
  • Other duties, as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Patience and flexibility
  • Skiing/Snowboarding ability - must be minimum Level 6 (PSIA)
  • Ability to lift 50 lb
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Higher education preferred
  • Teaching, coaching, working with people with special needs experience helpful
  • Need to be able to pass Background check.
  • Second language / Spanish preferred

 

The expected pay range is $20.00 - $21.36. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
