This is an in-person, on-site position that reports daily to the IT Office located at 1031 S Frontage Road, Vail, CO.

 

Job Summary:

The IT Field Services & IT Hospitality Sr. Manager is a position leading two key responsibilities—IT operations support for Vail Mtn. and Beaver Creek resorts, and technology support for hospitality properties at Vail Mtn., Beaver Creek, Keystone and Breckenridge resorts. 

 

In support of IT operations at resorts and retail outlets, the Sr. Manager is responsible for the on-site, day-to-day management, leadership, strategy, project & relationship management ensuring delivery of Information Technology connectivity and hardware solutions to Resort lines of business.  Hospitality IT responsibilities include the oversight, support, maintenance, project management, relationship management and strategy for guest-facing technology within Vail Resorts’ hospitality portfolios. 

 

A successful Field IT Sr. Manager understands the unique needs of the Resort and Hospitality operations and how the broader Vail Resorts Information Technology teams deliver technology to the operations.  The individual must translate this understanding into effective operational support and broader strategy development while creating and leveraging collaborative stakeholder relationships that deliver technology excellence for the business. She or he will not only establish cross-functional partnerships and collaboration to ensure that strategic plans are effective and supported by well-executed tactical actions, but drive an excellent employee experience for a diverse IT team, providing a healthy workplace culture that includes team member development that supports the team and the individual employee.  The Sr. Manager will possess demonstrated leadership skills and experience, a growth mindset, solid technical background, strong project management and financial acumen, and passion for the ski business. 

 

This Field IT Sr. Manager leads a team of managers, analysts and technicians, and reports to the Rocky Mountain IT Field Services Director, delivering on the company’s technology roadmap in partnership with peer IT leaders in areas including information security and application development, as well as Resort and Hospitality Operations senior leadership.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work on-site, from Vail, Colorado, providing day-to-day leadership that supports, develops and inspires local IT Field Services and IT Hospitality teams to deliver IT hardware and connectivity to local resorts and lines of business, as well as oversight and delivery of Hospitality on-property technology.
  • Work with business units and application teams to understand service requirements and expectations.
  • Provide tactical IT solutions and processes that address immediate challenges. 
  • Champion self-created and company-provided IT strategies, generating IT-related business solutions for both new challenges and potentially reoccurring challenges.
  • Develop and execute on goals and standards for the Field IT team’s service delivery to the resorts in cooperation with other IT departments and key stakeholders.
  • Develop and execute on goals and standards for the delivery of technology between Hospitality IT Applications, Hospitality Engineering and Field Technology IT Service Delivery in cooperation with other IT departments and key stakeholders.
  • Ensure your teams are leveraging available tools, dashboards, and data-driven reporting of application, infrastructure and/or support center services for efficient monitoring and troubleshooting of Field IT systems. 
  • Ensure your teams and users effectively and consistently utilize the IT work ticket system to facilitate efficient, thorough resolution of problems and show evidence task/workload. 
  • Utilize excellent communication skills to establish and/or maintain strong partner, stakeholder, and team member relationships and communication channels.  Provide candid, effective and appropriate feedback to the same.
  • Establish and maintain clear expectations for performance and professionalism (including adherence to company policy); provide accountability to those expectations. 
  • Oversee appropriate scheduling of self and team members to ensure service delivery to the business and desirable employee experiences. 
  • Ensure creation and maintenance of team member development plans and goals to support team member and overall team growth and success. 
  • Develop strong, productive relationships and multi-year roadmaps with IT partners and stakeholders across the local resorts, company lines of business, IT teams, and vendors.
  • Project management ensuring projects are completed to budget, timelines, quality standards; communicate risks and progress to business stakeholders.
  • Team budget management and oversight.
  • Proactively manage all information security, compliance and data privacy obligations.
  • Ensure the creation and/or maintenance of equipment inventories and system documentation. 
  • Understand and utilize modern IT Service Delivery tools and strategies (endpoint management, identity and access management, asset management).

Job Qualifications:

Required:

  • 5+ years of supervisory and leadership experience, and relevant work experience, including proven ability to successfully lead and oversee critical projects and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Positive, enthusiastic, and friendly.
  • Passion for the ski business and mountain lifestyle. 
  • Solution oriented with desire to learn new skills.
  • Demonstrated experience building collaborative partnerships on IT teams and the broader business.

  • Understanding of running production systems and end user support in a guest-centric organization.
  • Experience delivering Field/Edge technology services in alignment with Enterprise IT Service Delivery.
  • Experience implementing established information security standards.
  • Mature business financial acumen regarding operating and capital budgeting models.

Preferred:

  • Experience in Business, Technology, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of Enterprise and Operational technologies, including (Networking, End Point Management, Wireless Access, Telecom, Cellular Access, POS (Point of Sale), Mobile Device Management, including handheld scanners).
  • Strong vendor and contract management leadership.
  • Ski or snowboard at an intermediate level. 

 

The expected pay range is $116,040 - $140,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
