Job Summary
This is a management position for the Mountain Security department, with direct reports that is primarily focused on Patrol operations and developing Patrol staff potential & training programs to ensure the highest standard of operational performance and consistency. Responsible for performance management and evaluation of direct reports, hiring and staffing of the department, scheduling, payroll, training program development and implementation as well as oversight of departmental operations in collaboration with the Security Assistant Manager.

Collaborate with Security Assistant Mgr. to develop, implement, and maintain consistent departmental standards of operation and training that are designed to meet the expectation of the “World’s Premier Mountain Resort”.
Oversee and support the Security Team Leads in the daily operations of the department with a focus on consistent task completion of the highest standard throughout the operational week while seeking out opportunities for operational improvement and incorporating those into department training and guidelines.
Support prompt and professional response to guest and employee issues and requests through detailed & repeated training and drills.
Ensure incident reports are completed for all appropriate events in a professional, objective, and admissible manner.
Focus on safety by participating in daily briefings and contributing to or facilitating monthly staff meetings.
Coordinating scheduling of Patrol staff (as well as covering Dispatch & shuttle shifts) with the Security Assistant Manager to ensure all aspects of the department are adequately staffed with minimal overtime. Ensure employee payroll is approved on time and exceptions cleared regularly.
Manage the Vail Mountain AED pool & tracking of AEDs including repair and maintenance.
Ensure receipt and delivery of deposits & change orders for Vail Mtn Dining and Ticket office operations.
Work with Department manager to oversee purchasing and management of operating expenses, labor and First Aid.
Partner with the Assistant Manager to shape a training program for patroller’s continued assistance with dispatch coverage.
Manage the vehicle operation certification, maintenance, and field training programs within the department.
Understand and utilize wildland fire data & plans as well as manage fire trailer & fire cache deployment, collection, maintenance, and inventory.
Understand the network of Fire/Life safety systems within Vail Mountain facilities which include but are not limited to Alarm Center software, third party monitoring and the hardware’s operation to aid in troubleshooting, receipt of signals and communication to appropriate agencies & entities for maintenance or emergency response.
Manage mountain access procedures and materials for contractors & vendors.
Assist Assistant Manager in hiring and performance management of team members.
Enhance and mete out the training / growth & development curriculum for team members.
Promote a safe, productive, enjoyable work environment.
Foster relationships with all mountain and company departments.

Job Requirements:
The expected pay range is $25.00 - $31.26. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
