Entry Lift Mechanic - Full Time - Vail Mountain

Responsibilities Include:


  • To ensure the safe and reliable mechanical operation of the lifts.
  • Emphasis in learning and gaining preventive maintenance skills.
  • Responsible for following the company's safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  • Responsible for performing all routine maintenance procedures under the guidance of the Maintenance Manager and senior mechanics.
  • Responsible for assuring that the Maintenance Manager, Lead and Lift Dispatch is immediately informed and consulted on all abnormal or unusual conditions, incidents, observations or system malfunctions.
  • Responsible for recording all information of work performed on lifts and submiting to lift records in a timely manner.
  • Respond, as assigned, to lift failures to provide assistance to other maintenance personnel.
  • Assist in the on-going training and support of seasonal lift operations.
  • Responsible for maintaining all tools, maintenance equipment and vehicles in good condition.
  • Perform all other duties as assigned


  • High school education or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in lift operations - highly preferred
  • Basic working knowledge of desktop computer systems and applications.
  • Must be able to obtain valid Colorado Driver's License.
  • Must complete snowmobile operation training.
  • Able to identify and use basic tools.
  • Able to properly use a radio and ten-codes.
  • Able to work at heights.
  • Intermediate level skier helpful
  • Working knowledge of manufacturer's maintenance requirements preferred.
  • Familiar with applicable regulatory codes as they pertain to lifts preferred.
  • Snowmobile and vehicle trained preferred.
  • Climbing certified preferred.
  • Certified Level II NDT inspector preferred.


Schedule: Four ten-hour days per week.
