Job Summary:

Responsible for ensuring that all Resort guests have the highest quality food and beverage experience possible by providing exceptional server assistant skills.  Primary duties include; keeping the dining room and server stations clean, neat, well stocked and orderly. Responsible for polishing all china, glass and silver and ensuring all table settings are consistent, according to the standards.  Also responsible for the clearing of dirty dishes, emptying of trash and re-stocking of all items to support the server and keep the dining pace consistent to the expectations of our guests.  Refills beverages and is capable of providing guests with general assistance in the absence of the server. Also assists the team in creating a profitable department that is environmentally responsible.

 

Essential Job Functions:

  • Exhibits a professional demeanor through appearance, adhering to the uniform standards, and by maintaining a positive attitude toward all employees, managers and guests.
  • Ensures that the guest experience is pleasant in regard to atmosphere, service and quality by adhering to Marriott brand standards.
  • Capable of being apart of a cohesive team and maintaining a pro-active attitude. 
  • Provides professional and courteous service to co-workers, managers and guests alike. 
  • Maintains the cleanliness of the dining room, side stations and assists in keeping the guest restrooms clean and stocked. 
  • Polishes china, glass and silver and ensures all table settings are consistent, according to the brand standards.  Also responsible for the clearing of dirty dishes, emptying of trash and re-stocking of all items
  • Provides professional "silent service", and when engaged by a guest, is courteous and helpful.
  • Refills beverages and is capable of providing guests with general assistance in the absence of the server.  
  • Assists the host/servers in setting tables for reservations and large parties.  
  • Responsible for sweeping/vacuuming dining room, cleaning chairs, table bases and all areas within the dining room and side stations. 
  • Ensures all table settings are correct and consistent throughout the dining room.   
  • Attends daily pre-shift huddle and is knowledgeable about daily house counts, VIPs, daily features/soups, etc. 
  • Keeps the manager(s) informed of any issues that might affect service or timing. 
  • Completes daily side-work such as folding napkins, polishing silver/glassware, sweeping the floors, etc. without being prompted and looks for additional things to do to help co-workers and managers. 
  • Maintains good communication between different departments in the resort as well as within Ocotillo.
  • Gives all lost and found items promptly to the host for notification of Loss Prevention. 
  • Follows safe work practices and reports any safety concerns. 
  • Adheres to the state liquor laws and all health regulations.
  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.
  • Performs any additional tasks or projects as required.

 

 

The budgeted range starts at $20.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
