Job Summary:

This leader will be involved in creating and executing project plans that support strategies for many disciplines, including: talent development, succession planning, learning & development, employee recognition, employee engagement, change management and culture development.

Coordinate, administer and report on various training programs, employee engagement systems and procedures to aid in the attraction, retention and motivation of employees in accordance with policies and procedures while promoting a safe, fair, positive work environment.

  • The budgeted range starts at $60,000- $70,000+ annual bonus. Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience

 

Job Responsibilities:
Partner with functional leaders to:

  • Champion performance & talent development strategies
  • Build internal capability through learning and development programs to create diverse & high performing teams
  • Drive employee engagement and recognition
  • Drive & facilitate change and culture development

 

Key Activities:

Talent Management and Development

  • Support the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of talent management practices to support The Hythe’s vision and strategic and operational objectives.
  • Support the development and delivery of annual programs such as leadership development, succession management, learning and development and performance management.  Delivery includes identifying areas of improvement, collaborating with partners, proposing recommendations, communications and/or training to support and evaluation.
  • Ensure leaders are providing appropriate recognition, coaching and mentoring to build their team and consult on management of below expectations performance as necessary.
  • Supports a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
  • Ensures employees are cross-trained to support successful daily operations.
  • Uses all available on the job training tools for employees; supervise on-going training initiatives and conducts training, when appropriate.
  • Ensures coordination and facilitation of new hire orientation program to generate a positive first impression for employees and emphasize the importance of guest service in company culture.
  • Ensures attendance by all new hires and participation of the leadership team in training programs
  • Collaborates with management team to ensure departmental orientation processes are in place and employees receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.

 

 Employee Experience and Engagement

  • Work with General Manager, Executive Committee and Senior Leadership Team to define employee engagement goals and strategies to drive increased engagement in our culture
  • Proactively identify issues that impact engagement and develop plan to mitigate risks
  • Define tactics that positively impact organizational culture and help correct derailing behaviors or practices
  • Ensure on property recognition is built and executed flawlessly to ensure a mountain rare employee experience
  • Assists in maintaining effective employee communication channels in the property (e.g., develops daily communications and assists with regularly scheduled property-wide meetings).
  • Ensures employee issues are referred to the Department Manager for resolution or escalated to the Vail Resorts Human Resources

Job Qualifications:

  • Must be willing to work a flexible schedule in order to accomplish all major responsibilities, and be willing to accept assignments on as need basis, in order to promote team work. This may include some evenings, weekends and holidays. 
  • Organize and facilitate all on-boarding programs, to include orientation and ensuring that new employees are welcomed to the The Hythe.
  • Act as the on-site learning and development lead, organizing on boarding and continuous training programs
  • Proven experience in driving cultural change and improvement in employee engagement
  • • High school diploma or GED; 3 years experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

    OR

    • 2-year degree from an accredited university in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related major; 1 year experience in the human resources, management operations, or related professional area.

 

The expected pay range is $60,000 - $70,000 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
