Job Summary:
This position focuses on developing and administering resort-area dispatch centers, ensuring safe and reliable access to EME's ground transportation network. Additionally, they are responsible for guest and driver safety as well as the timeliness of all scheduled and private car departures. The assistant operations manager is responsible for ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements for drivers’ daily logs and hours-of-service records. Decisions regarding the success of area operations are also an integral part of this position.

Job Responsibilities:
- Direct management and oversight of the Dispatch department, including hiring, training, budgeting, goal planning, performance reviews, and advocacy of development and succession opportunities.
- Work with Transportation Management Systems and Resource Management to create and maintain daily schedules, accommodating all reservations and commitments.
- Ability to successfully dispatch EME drivers and vehicles, ensuring consistent, on-time delivery of EME services. Work with Fleet and Resource Managers to allocate appropriate vehicle resources, in line with the fleet allocation plans.
- Complete knowledge, understanding, and enforcement of FMCSA regulatory requirements of Commercial Motor Vehicles and Drivers.
- Responsible for assisting with driver and dispatcher payroll
- Maintain a high level of appreciation and accountability for customer satisfaction results, including direct guest communication, service recovery efforts, and any necessary performance management of drivers/dispatchers.
- Responsible for first-contact response initiatives for vehicle incidents/accidents, and employee injuries (work comp), including possible implementation of the Crisis Management Plan. Assist Health and Safety and HR with any required follow-up.
- Work closely with the Lead Operations Manager to ensure the success of the department as a business unit.
- Assist HR and the Training department in recruiting, hiring, training and performance management of Guest Service Drivers.
- Assists in the development and implementation of operational policies and procedures.
- Occasional Call Center duties during the Spring/Summer/Fall.
- Cover last-minute open shifts due to unexpected illness, injury or other absences
Job Requirements:
- High School Diploma or equivalent. Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university preferred
- Ground transportation operations experience preferred.
- Operations staff management experience preferred.
- Valid Driver’s License
- MS Office, database & internet software
- English fluency required. Ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Develop mastery of Vail Resorts systems including but not limited to; Hudson TMS, Lytx, PeopleSoft, Enablon, Chargerback, and Success Factors.
The expected pay range is $56,485.00 - $74,518.63. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
