Job Summary:

Manage all operational activities of the hotel's Front Office to provide the highest standards of courteous service while meeting and exceeding financial targets. Communicates effectively in writing and verbally to provide clear direction to staff. Observes performance and encourages improvement. Interviews, selects, trains, supervises, evaluates, counsels, develops and administers progressive disciplinary procedures for front office staff to ensure that the Hythe’s high standards of quality are met. Interacts positively with guests and takes action to resolve issues to the satisfaction of the guest/resort. Spearheads customer services focus throughout the front office and assists with maintaining service quality focusing on continuous improvement. Overseeing the day-to-day operations for Front Desk, Night Audit and front of house operations as needed. Ideal position for a hospitality supervisor looking to step into their first management role!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance will all Brand Standards and meet and exceed Brand Standard Audit Goals for the Luxury Collection.
  • Anticipatory guest service to pro-actively identify member and guest needs and coordinate with departments to ensure they are met, actively encourage and implement ideas and innovative thinking
  • Organize scheduling of the Front Office team according to business levels, groups and needs and issuing this to the team in a timely manner weekly
  • Monitoring and timely response of GSS Medallia for guest surveys.
  • Authority in dealing with all individual guest issues as they occur and try to resolve the issues to a satisfactory outcome for the guest/Resort and updates guest history accordingly including appropriate GXP reporting.
  • Maintaining a high level of professional appearance, demeanor, and ethics in dealing both with guests, co-workers and subordinates.  
  • Performance of all special projects as requested by the Front office Manager, Rooms Director and General Manager
  • Clear employee exceptions, monitor time for Front office manager’s final review and approval.
  • Empower associates to provide excellent customer service, ensuring to emphasize guest satisfaction during departmental meetings and focus on continuous improvement, ensuring associates understand expectations and parameters.
  • Reviews current day's expected arrivals and check all VIP and special request, review all departures to ensure accurate reporting, notations, comments and billing.
  • reservations to ensure that they are communicated. Monitor GXP for guest items. 
  • Assist the accounting department in resolving guest billing issues.
  • Develops strong working relationships with other department managers and directors to ensure communication and teamwork is at an optimum.
  • Goal setting and employee development. Ensure utilizing “open door” policy and provide team with opportunities for open dialogue and opportunities for growth.
  • Conduct interviews, and perform reference checks of potential new hires within the Front Desk operations. 
  • Organize and administer on the job and continuing training for new employees, onboarding, and monitor training programs.  Overall team development. Including recognizing and developing internal talent.
  • Participate in training classes set up by the Arrabelle, Rock Resort and Vail Resort.   
  • Complies with all Resort policies, procedures and standards of operation.
  • Able to assume responsibilities of Manager on Duty (MOD).
  • Participate and be present in training classes set up by the Hythe, Marriott and Vail Resorts and represent the Hythe to the highest standards in all networking opportunities.
  • Complies with all Vail Resort and Marriott policies, procedures and standards of operation.
  • Performs any additional tasks or projects as required or deemed necessary by management. 
  • Other duties and tasks as reasonably requested by management


Job Qualifications:

  • HS diploma required - required.
  • College degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • One year supervisory experience – required.
  • Two Years of hospitality experience in a property of similar size and quality - preferred.
  • Marriott Systems including; Lightspeed PMS, GXP, Alice etc - preferred.
  • Microsoft office (excel, word, outlook etc) - required.
  • Ability to read and comprehend complex correspondence in english – required.
  • Ability to effectively present details information both verbally and written forms to guests, fellow leaders, team members throughout organization in Englsh – required.
  • Bi-lingual; Spanish – preferred.
  • Flexible schedule including evenings, weekends, and holidays - required
  • Ability to perform well under pressure – Required
  • Attention to detail - Required
  • Ability to lift more than 20 pounds -required


The expected pay range is $52,000 - $58,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
