Job Summary:
Wranglers lead guided interpretive horseback trail rides for guests. They assist guests on trail rides and assure their comfort and safety.They provide for care of horses and maintain the corral in a neat, orderly fashion. They are required to be friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable providing information to guests regarding GTLC, Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding Jackson Hole area.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $17.75/hr - $22.32/hr 

  • Employment Type: Summer Seasonal 2026  

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age  

  • Housing Availability: No  

 

Job responsibilites:

  • Guide trail rides and provide information about the Park to guests throughout the ride.
  • Speak professionally and be able to properly report and handle accidents on radios, if necessary.
  • General care and well-being of livestock.
  • Maintain and repair corrals as needed.
  • Give pony rides to young guests.Complete daily chores such as saddling, grooming, cleaning tack, etc.
  • Ensure safety of horses and employees through sound decision making, example: cancelling rides due to weather or wildlife activity
  • Answer question, train, and assist wranglers
  • Perform other duties as requested.

 

Job Requriments:

  • Prior experience in riding and care of horses
  • Valid US Driver’s License, Current First Aid and CPR Certification
  • Strong verbal English skills
  • Must be able to lift at least 100lbs
  • Interpretive Knowledge of Grand Teton National Park

  • You must be committed to superior guest service and quality standards. As a team member of your department you play a key role ensuring the team’s success and achievement of meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations.

Environmental: 

  • The Grand Teton Lodge Company is entrusted with protecting the environment of Grand Teton National Park. As part of this mission you are responsible for carrying out our core environmental values: promote renewable energy, reduction of waste, protection of wildlife habitat, and environmental education. You should strive to preserve, protect and inspire your team members and our guests to join in this effort.
    1.
    Uphold and maintain NPS and Leave no Trace standards for stock use.

Health and Safety: 

  • You are responsible for working in a safe and healthy manner. You must be knowledgeable of the company’s work safety policies and procedures.
    1.
    Brush and saddle horses.
    2.
    Feed and water horses. Doctor horses as necessary.
    3.
    Clean and repair corrals, hitch racks and feed bunks.
    4.
    Ability to work training young horses to become trail horses
    5.
    Take horses to hitch rails and assist in loading riders.
    6.
    Pay close attention to guests during rides to ensure proper spacing between horses.

NPS/Community Relations:

  • You must be committed to working in partnership with the National Park Service and community organizations to enhance our guests’ experiences. Our goal is to receive only fives on the five point rating scale used by NPS.
    1.
    Give informative information about the area on trail rides and in guest areas. Be able to speak loud enough for guests in the back of the line to hear you.
    2.
    Know and uphold GTLC concessions permit regarding horse operations.
    a.
    Ensure that guest numbers do not exceed park limits (maximum of 12 guests per ride,wrangler for every 6 guests).
    b.
    Leave no Trace
