Job Summary:

The Corral Foreman is responsible for the total operation of the Colter Bay Corrals including location management and supervision of wranglers, and supervision of corral operations.   Assist wranglers in leading guided interpretive horseback trail rides for guests.  Assist guests on trail rides and assure their comfort and safety.  Provide for care of horses and maintain the corral in a neat, orderly fashion.  The Corral Foreman is required to be friendly, courteous and knowledgeable providing information regarding GTLC, Grand Teton National Park and the surrounding Jackson Hole area.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Oversee complete care of all livestock including feeding, vetting, training, use, and well being
  • Train, manage, complete payroll, and oversee Wranglers and Corral Clerk ensuring employees perform their duties properly
  • See that the rides remain on schedule and make periodic security checks on the number of riders on each ride.  Ensure that overall customer services and interpretive information are of quality level.
  • Ride routinely as a wrangler at least once per week and more often as need or if there is a problem with a particular ride or trail.
  • Fill in where needed if shorthanded.
  • Prepare opening schedule (stock arrival, vettings, shoeing, hay arrival, employee arrival, etc.).
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Prior experience riding and caring for horses
  • Valid US Driver’s License, First Aid and CPR Certification, Successful MVR
  • Basic Computer literacy
  • Strong verbal English Skills
  • Ability to drive and haul truck and loaded horse trailer
  • Must be able to lift 100 pounds

Preferred Skills:

  • Interpretive Knowledge of Grand Teton National Park
  • Prior management or supervisory experience

The expected pay range is $46,000. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
