Job Summary:

The Health, Safety & Security (HSS) Senior Specialist plays a key role in advancing a world-class safety culture across Grand Teton Lodge Company’s six resort operations. Working at the intersection of Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS), Fire & Life Safety, and Security, this position partners with HSS leadership, National Park Service (NPS) representatives, resort management, and corporate stakeholders to ensure compliance, drive continuous improvement, and foster a culture of accountability, care, and engagement. The Senior Specialist will not only execute inspections, recordkeeping, and compliance functions but also serve as a safety ambassador, building strong communication networks, delivering impactful training, and inspiring others to embrace our core value: Be Safe.

Job Responsibilities:

The Health, Safety & Security Senior Specialist will influence and support the company’s EHS/HSS strategy to achieve world-class safety performance in the travel and leisure industry. Primary responsibilities include:

  • Conducting and documenting Fire & Life Safety (IFC) inspections across 1,000+ guest and residential units.
  • Supporting local and enterprise strategies to maintain best-in-class compliance with OSHA, NPS, ISO 45001, and IFC requirements.
  • Promoting hazard recognition and supporting risk reduction initiatives across all resort locations.
  • Delivering engaging and impactful training sessions and safety drills for cross-functional teams.
  • Executing targeted action projects and continuous improvement initiatives in coordination with EHS/HSS leadership.
  • Providing guidance on safety programs across multiple functions, including:
    • Hospitality, Retail, F&B, Culinary, Engineering , Marina, and Guided Adventures.
  • Maintaining accurate health & safety records for six GTLC resort properties:
    • Jackson Hole Golf & Tennis, Jenny Lake Lodge, Gros Ventre Campground, Jackson Lake Lodge, Colter Bay Village/Marina, and Flagg Ranch.
  • Traveling to assigned resorts within the region, as needed.
  • Performing other duties or tasks as assigned.

 

Job Qualifications: 

  • Bachelor’s, or advanced degree in Health & Safety preferred.
  • 1–3 years’ experience in EHS, Fire & Life Safety, Security, or Risk Management.
  • Solid working knowledge of OSHA standards, EHS best practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including Teams.
  • Knowledge of Environmental, Health & Safety practices.

 

Preferred: 

  • Proven communication skills with the ability to influence, engage, and train diverse audiences.
  • Experience with EHS data collection/analytics platforms (Tableau, Gensuite, Smartsheet, etc.).
  • Experience leading and implementing change management across a variety of stakeholders.
  • Previous operational experience in NPS authorized operations or hospitality settings.

 

The expected pay range is $24.00/hr - $30.00/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
