Job Summary: 

This position offers an exciting opportunity to work and live in Grand Teton National Park at Jackson Lake Lodge. Ideal for individuals passionate about cooking and eager to gain experience in a professional kitchen, this entry-level role involves assisting with food preparation and maintaining kitchen operations. 

  

Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $17.75/hr + tips 

  • Employment Type: Summer Seasonal 2026  

  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available 

  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Assist cooks in the preparation and service of menu items. 

  • Taste all the food on the line and make sure it is up to specification. 

  • Check and refill soups and other supplies during service to ensure sufficient supply is on hand. 

  • Ensure preparation is always stays ahead. 

  • Pick up store room requisitions as required. 

  • Take and note meal breaks every day 

  • Must be flexible and adapt to changes 

  • Follow guideline requirement of our E.H.S. as well as proper disposal of oils at night 

  • Perform opening and closing duties as assigned 

  • Keep sanitation levels to company standards 

  • Other duties as assigned by management 

  • Help other departments when need arise 

  • Attend all trainings and classes as assigned or advised by supervisor. 

  • Other duties as assigned by your supervisor or Senior Management

You must be committed to superior guest service and quality standards. As a team member of your department you play a key role ensuring the team’s success and achievement of meeting and exceeding our guests’ expectations. Our goal is to receive a minimum of 88% on our guest comment scores. 

  1. Conducts all duties in a friendly, courteous and organized manner. 

  1. Maintains a clean and organized work area. Keeps tables clear of debris and guest areas clean. 

Utilizes ISO 9001 training manuals in the initial training of incoming personnel ensuring company policies , procedures, service standards, P.O.S. operations and assigned duties are performed correctly and effectively.

Health and Safety: 

You are responsible for working in a safe and healthy manner. You must be knowledgeable of the company’s work safe policies and procedures. 

  • Clean station as needed to ensure all health and sanitation codes are met. 

  • Clean up on back line. 

  • Follows the principles of serve safe and participates in safe knife handling training. 

  • Insures Serv Safe and HACCP Practices are followed at all times. 

  • Wearing Safety Cut Glove at all times while using sharp instruments - knives, slicers etc. 

  • Usage of Personal Protection Equipment provided by the company 

  

NPS/Community Relations: 

You must be committed to working in partnership with the National Park Service and community organizations to enhance our guests’ experiences. Our goal is to receive only fours and fives on the five point rating scale used by NPS.

  

Job Requirements: 

  • 6 months kitchen food preparation experience. 

  • Required to live on property in the assigned housing or employee RV park 

  • Knowledge of different stations like grill, garde manger and sauté 

  • High volume cooking experience. 

  • Will work mostly indoors unless outside events organized 

  • Knowledge of Kitchen Chemicals and MSDS 

  • Equipment Used in Job: Slicers, Choppers, Steam Kettles, Hot water Baths, Tilt Skillets, Ranges, Ovens, Fryers. 

  • Clean White double-breasted chef's jacket, apron, checked pant / black pant and chef's hat provided by the company. Firm black leather closed-toe and closed-back, rubber and slip-resistant soled shoes and belt to be provided by the employee. Name Tag, Calibrated Food Thermometer, Note Pad and Black sharpie provided by the company 

  

Preferred Skills: 

  • Cold food preparation. 

  • Familiarity with stations such as grill, garde manger, and sauté. 

  • Experience in high-volume cooking and egg cookery.
