Job Summary:

You are expected to adhere to the company’s mission, vision and value statements. Be knowledgeable of the company’s management systems, policies and initiatives for Hospitality, Environmental, and Health and Safety.  You have specific responsibilities within these areas and are expected to understand them.  Responsible for pick-up and deposal of all garbage and trash from all company properties.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Makes garbage and trash pick-up using 25 cubic yard packer garbage truck from various containers, from standard garbage cans to 8 cubic yard front dump garbage containers.
  • To ensure quality guest service, responsible for adhering to established pick up schedules.
  • Ensure that all refuse is transported to the Teton County Transfer Station.
  • Ensures that no errant trash or litter is left at collection locations.
  • Follows all company guidelines for the proper management, storage, and disposal of waste products and chemicals.
  • Checks vehicle for proper operation prior to each day's run (i.e. tire pressure, engine oil, etc.).
  • Ensure that all work is performed in a safe manner in a safe environment.
  • Observe all requirements for the GTLC Hazard Communication Program
  • Attends training and observes all applicable OSHA and other regulatory compliance programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as required by human resources and the EH&S office. Programs include, but not limited to: permit-required confined spaces; respiratory protection; blood-borne pathogens; personal protective equipment (PPE); hearing conservation; lockout-tagout; spill prevention, control, and countermeasure plan; drivers safety; and, general proper operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Specifically comply with all requirements under the GTLC Drivers Safety Program.
  • Obtain all appropriate PPE for each task to ensure maximum protection.
  • Operates company owned front end load packer type, hydraulic operated refuse truck on scheduled basis.
  • Maintains the refuse packer truck by keeping it clean at all times.
  • Maintains dumpster containers.
  • Performs duties as assigned by management

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • High school diploma/ GED   
  • 2 years of CDL Truck experience
  • Must possess a valid class A with air brake endorsement CDL driver’s license 
  • Successful Completion of MVR
  • Have good communication
  • Organizational skills
  • Capable of handling moderately strenuous activity

 

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required: 

  • Heavy equipment operation experience
  • Automotive mechanical experience
