Grand Teton Lodge Company, located in beautiful Grand Teton National Park, is currently looking for Pastry Cooks & Bakers, of all experience levels, who will provide first class service to our guests in an upbeat, fast-paced restaurant environment. Our formal training and staging program provides the opportunity for professional advancement from various career stages. We will train folks with the right attitude and a passion for being here, with us, at our amazing resort. 

 

We will be hiring our pastry/bakery cooks into three different classifications: Entry, Intermediate and Advanced. Your application will be forwarded to the appropriate position based on previous experience and skill level. Classification requirements are listed below.

 

The Entry Pastry Cook is responsible for the opening, setting up, running and the closing of the bakery, in addition to ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bakery are kept up to brand standards. This position prepares all baked and pastry goods to the specification of the chef, and is expected to follow standard recipes at all times.

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • Ability to lift and carry 40+ lbs

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • 1 year previous culinary experience
  • Culinary degree or certificate, or equivalent work experience

 

The Intermediate Pastry Cook is responsible for the opening, setting up, running and the closing of the bakery, in addition to ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bakery are kept up to brand standards. This position prepares all baked and pastry goods to the specification of the chef, and is expected to follow standard recipes at all times.

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • 1 year minimum pastry and baking experience
  • Strong culinary and knife skills
  • Knowledgeable of different breads, doughs, and pastries
  • Ability to lift and carry 40+ lbs

 

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Knowledge of different culinary trends
  • Culinary degree or certificate, or equivalent work experience
  • High volume baking and pastry

 

The Lead Pastry Cook is responsible for the opening, setting up, running and the closing of the bakery, in addition to ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bakery are kept up to brand standards. This position prepares all baked and pastry goods to the specification of the chef, and is expected to follow standard recipes at all times. The Lead Pastry Cook is additionally responsible for training and assisting other bakers, pastry cooks and pastry assistants on a daily basis with prep work and other functions in the bakery.

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • 2 year minimum pastry and baking experience

 

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Knowledge of different breads, doughs and pastries
  • High volume baking and pastry

 

The Pastry Chef is responsible for all baking and pastry food product served at: Banquets, breakfast, breakfast buffet, lunch and dinner, meal sites and outlets. This responsibility includes: planning, scheduling, organizing and directing work, training personnel, ensuring all procedures and standards are in compliance with NPS, Brand Standard and Internal Audits. The Chef is also responsible for the ordering of supplies, the supervision & training of staff, the monthly inventories, including labor and food costs, and the deputation of sous chefs. The Pastry Chef oversees a staff of 8+ employees, and is responsible to monitor employee clock in and clock out. This position additionally assists in oversight of Employee Dining Room.

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • 1 year pastry chef experience

 

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Multi Outlet resort experience
  • Knowledge of advanced pastry techniques, cake decorating, breads and doughs
  • High volume production

 

The Head Baker is responsible for the opening, setting up, running and the closing of the bakery, in addition to ensuring the safety and cleanliness of the bakery are kept up to brand standards. This position prepares all baked and pastry goods to the specification of the chef, and is expected to follow standard recipes at all times. The Head Baker is additionally responsible for training and assisting other bakers, pastry cooks and pastry assistants on a daily basis with prep work and other functions in the bakery.

 

The “must haves” for this position include:

  • 2 year minimum baking experience

 

We prefer that you additionally have the following skills / experience, but it is not required:

  • Knowledge of different breads, doughs and pastries
  • High volume baking and pastry
