Lift Operator - Summer Seasonal

 Implements daily mountain bike operations with regard to all on hill duties. Provides superior guest service, greet and welcome all guests, resolve issues and concerns in a timely, professional manner.



  • Must be 18
  • Strong mountain biking ability
  • Skill with power tools, preferable power saws and or circular blade clearing saws, and hand tools i.e., shovel and Pulaski
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills, work well with others, and be able to take directions with a positive attitude.
  • Good written, verbal and radio communication skills
  • Ability to be insured to drive company vehicles
  • Skill in operating heavy machinery preferred
  • Ability to work both independently and within a functional team; service and people oriented
  • Must be comfortable with the changing dynamics of a seasonal business. 



  • Knowledge of chair operations, minor maintenance and setup
  • Knows all on-hill sign requirements
  • Able to use chair lift to deliver materials and supplies
  • Able to use all handheld RTP and RFID systems/operations
  • Support all Company and Lift Operations policies and procedures, mission, vision, and values
  • Acquire and maintain knowledge of the trails/runs at Stevens Pass
  • Safely operate trail maintenance tools and machines; perform minor maintenance on tools
  • Perform re-vegetation work
  • Maintain a safe environment; exercise good judgment
  • Follow all operating practices at all times with regard to lifts, trails, risk management, patrol and validation
  • Maintain, replace, and fix on-hill materials (fences, signage, etc)
  • Execute the safe, efficient and courteous loading and unloading of passengers as required
  • Ensure all tickets/passes are valid
  • Assist Patrol when needed
  • Complete daily log sheets pertaining to the chair and Injury report forms and hill logs.
  • Creates open communication with the guests and fellow workers.
  • Provide Peak Service and L.A.S.T to guests, follow the Stevens Pass Service Philosophy
  • Perform additional tasks as requested by the Mountain Operations Manager or Director of Operations.



Can withstand extended exposure to inclement weather and environmental conditions.  Manual dexterity, including swinging hand tools, reaching.  Hike over steep, rough terrain carrying tools, daily personal gear, equipment and supplies.  Regularly lifts up to 50#, occasionally lifts up to 100#; able to stoop, bend, kneel, sit, balance and stand; have peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
