The Ticket Scanning Assistant Manager is a seasonal, hourly position that focuses on delivering a memorable on-mountain experience through providing outstanding guest service at each of our base area lift locations. They will lead a Ticket Scanning team covering day and evening operations. The team is responsible for greeting each guest, scanning every ticket and verifying that each guest has a valid product to access the mountain while maintaining a fun and welcoming atmosphere.


The role centers around managing the on-snow operations and staff. They must have a passion for leadership and guest service, as well as the skills and knowledge to document procedures and communicate effectively.



  • Contribute to a culture of inclusivity and excellence that results in a safe, positive and engaging work environment for all
  • Coordinate staff assignments, orchestrate breaks and manage staff volume relative to business volume
  • Oversee daily setup and breakdown tasks to prepare lift mazes for public
  • Assist the department manager in leading staff training and ongoing coaching
  • Assist with hiring, scheduling and payroll entry
  • Ensure staff are informed and well prepared to perform
  • Build cross-department relationships with other resort leaders and employees
  • Develop leadership and technical skill set by taking advantage of educational and training opportunities
  • Maintain inventory and routine maintenance of scanning hardware and tools
  • Achieve objectives related to employee safety, scanning rate and fraud prevention



  • Leadership experience in a customer service oriented role in the resort industry or closely related field.
  • Passion for snowsports industry and the mountain environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform in a high paced, multi-faceted environment with the ability to multi-task.
  • Ability to handle frequent guest interactions, maintaining high service standards at all times.
  • Exceptional organizational and communication skills and ability to remain calm and focused under pressure.
  • Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background screening.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, weekdays & holidays during resort operations.



  • Previous Vail Resorts Team Lead or greater leadership experience.
  • Experience with RPOS software; Scan Tools and Customer Manager.
