Job Summary:

The Ski and Snowboard School Manager is responsible for creating a welcoming impression by leading the resort values and priorities and modeling our company’s leadership competencies. This is achieved through the focus on quality control, guest relations, sales generation, staff performance development, financial responsibility, communication, teamwork, administrative duties and self-development.

 

They will manage all aspects of lesson operation and conveyor lifts and growth and will oversee the location’s supervisory team to ensure all stakeholders: employees, guests, resort and business needs are consistently met. This position will work with the Director of Skier Services, Senior Manager, and all other resort departments to ensure efficient management of the department.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $77,968 - $88,169

Job Responsibilities:

  • Successfully coach, motivate and develop a high performing team. Ensure team is aligned with the goals and values of Stevens Pass and Vail Resorts. Develop departmental leaders and prepare them for increased responsibility/accountability.
  • Maintain an employee culture of inclusivity and excellence that will result in a safe, positive and engaging work environment for all. This culture to include teamwork, collaboration, positive thinking, and constant improvement to attract the best and brightest employees and motivate them to accomplish great work.
  •  Implements and holds staff accountable to both Ski & Ride School & company policies and procedures.
  • Resolve guest complaints by utilizing company values, and available company tools.
  • Drive our business through quality control of products, labor management and safety of employees and guests.
  • Collaborate with the Training Team in devising and implementing the training plan for all employees.
  • Understand, Lead and model the Company’s mission, vision and values.
  • Contribute to development of future strategic initiatives of the department.
  • Ensure that staffing needs are in line with business needs on a daily basis
  • Other job duties as assigned by management

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Minimum 3 years proven leadership experience in SSBS or closely related field.
  • PSIA/AASI Level 2 certification or equivalent
  • Experience with and passion for working with children.
  • High level of proficiency in MS Office applications and in adapting to unfamiliar software systems.
  • English, fluency in both written and verbal
  • Must be able to work in inclement weather in a high alpine environment
  • Must have excellent guest service and communication skills
  • A positive, strengths-based orientation and can-do attitude.
  • Must be able to work flexible schedule including weekends, nights, weekdays, evenings, & holidays
  • Employment in this position is subject to a satisfactory background screening. 

 

The expected pay range is $77,968 - $88,169. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
