Job Summary:
The Grooming/Snow Removal Manager is responsible for providing direction, leadership and expertise to the Grooming, Snow Removal, and Summer Road Maintenance departments throughout the year. This position is also responsible for the organizational partnership and success, between the Grooming and the Snow Removal teams.
Job Specifications:
- Expected Pay Range: $52,743.60 - $70,996.80 + annual bonus
- Shift Availability: Full Time, Year Round
Job Responsibilities:
- Departmental oversight and budgets.
- The hiring, training, scheduling and management of all staff within Grooming and Snow Removal.
- Supervising performance management (goals, evaluations, discipline and recognition).
- The organization and delegation of the daily workload to Snowcat and Snow Removal operators.
- Working closely with Mountain and Base Operational Departments to ensure the mountain opens in the most effective and efficient way possible.
- Works directly with Grooming Operation leads to produce one of the finest snow surface products in the industry.
- Works directly with Snow Removal leads to ensure all parking lots are cleared of snow and ready for guest’s arrival.
- Works closely with resorts Nordic Center, Terrain Park Manager, and Parking Team to ensure continuity and alignment of assignments and priorities.
- This position is responsible for maintaining an excellent working relationship with all associated departments at Stevens Pass. These departments include but not limited to fleet maintenance, ski patrol, lift maintenance, and lift operations.
- Ensuring compliance with all company and department policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
- Responsibilities also include providing constant communication with all necessary departments at Stevens Pass. Involvement with all mountain operations teams, and attend all resort Leadership meetings in order to provide and develop Leadership opportunities.
Job Requirements:
- High school education or equivalent
- Valid driver’s license
- Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft, Smart sheets, Excel).
- Proficiency in the English language and excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Must be able to work holidays and weekends
- Must be able to work days, mid-shift, and graveyard shift as needed.
- Must be an advanced-level skier/snowboarder able to cover advanced terrain.
- Other duties as assigned
Preferred:
- Previous experience budgeting at departmental level
- Previous experience as a groomer, winch cat operator, and/or heavy equipment
- Previous mechanical or heavy equipment experience
- Previous knowledge of Stevens Pass
- 3-5 years managing staff or supervising teams of ten employees.
The expected pay range is $65,478 - $70,996.80 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
