Job Summary:

The Ski Patrol Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing the daily operations of Ski Patrol operations. Communication with all Stevens Pass departments to assure smooth operations at Stevens Pass Ski Resort is critical. This is a managerial-level position, capable of prioritizing and strategizing all facets of the job with the intent of aligning the team with the core competencies of the Company.  The Assistant Patrol Manager will assist in preparing and managing both operational and capital budgets. Ski Patrol is a highly visible role on the mountain and this position requires active engagement with guests and employees. 

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $27.00/hr - $36.44/hr

Job Responsibilities:

  • Represent ski patrol interests and incidents during the absence of Ski Patrol Manager.
  • Assist in oversight of enforcement utilizing Vail Resorts policies.
  • Assure ski patrol is well trained in medical rescue, lift evacuation, technical rescue, avalanche control, night search, accident investigation, trail work, safety, and guest service
  • Assist in preparing and monitoring budget, and help to prepare monthly forecasts
  • Hire, train, and evaluate performance of ski patrollers.
  • Utilize the Incident Command System in conjunction with outside entities including with Washington State DOT, local County Search and Rescue Groups and local Law Enforcement Agencies for the management of complex incidents.
  • Administrative duties such as goal setting, performance management, performance appraisals, training, scheduling, work comp, payroll, budget management and anything else necessary for the successful operation of Stevens Pass Ski Patrol Department.
  • Function appropriately in the absence of the Ski Patrol Manager.
  • Keep global prospective of all aspects of Mountain Operations
  • Work with all other Departments which includes but is not limited to, Avalanche Forecasters, Lift Operations, Food and Beverage, Vehicle Maintenance, Environmental, Ski and Ride School, Marketing and Events, Human Resources and Safety/Risk Management to maintain efficient operations
  • Assist with all HR and employee relation matters
  • Patrol Hiring, fall preparations

 

Job Requirements:

  • High School Graduate
  • Minimum of 5 years of ski patrol experience
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervision experience
  • State issued driver’s license, WFR or EMT certification, must possess or able to acquire a Washington State Blasters License
  • Microsoft Office
  • English
  • Must be successful with influencing a positive culture, leading change, empowering the workforce and driving employee engagement

The expected pay range is starting at $27.00/hr - $36.44/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
