In Person Hiring Event - Restaurant Support, Kitchen Support, Product Sales Agent - 1/19/2021

Snow Creek is operating an in person hiring event on January 21, 2021 in order to hire Restaurant Support, Kitchen Support and Product Sales Agent (job descriptions below). The event will take place from 3pm - 7pm in the Sundance Base Lodge. 

 

As part of Vail Resorts, all Snow Creek employees receive a FREE ski pass providing access to all of our 34 iconic ski resorts across North America. Employees and dependents can ski anytime, including weekends, with no reservations required (with the exception of possible blackout days if limited terrain is open).

 

Restaurant Support worker is an active contributor to the functionality of the restaurant and can show the versatility and range to complete multiple tasks throughout the day. This unique role will provide the right candidates keen insight and understanding into the complex operations, daily activities and processes of the restaurant. Among other things, Restaurant Support workers are responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of food to guests in the restaurant. They will also assist with clearing, cleaning, and resetting tables in the restaurant, maintaining stock of supplies, flatware and other materials needed in the restaurant, maintaining the cleanliness of floors, chairs, tables, and restaurant service area, and removing trash and recycling.

 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Delivering exceptional service to our guests from the beginning of the service day until the end.
  • Must be able to assist all guests in a timely and efficient manner, while maintaining a high level of flow through check-out lines.
  • Directly responsible for the stocking, organization and cleanliness of their assigned cashier station scramble area and the surrounding areas. Brewing coffee for guest purchase, stocking fountain soda machine with ice, stocking the cocoa machine, etc.
  • Responsible for accuracy of point-of-sale. Also responsible for completing point-of-sale check-out and turn-in procedures and paperwork.
  • Responsible for set-up, operation and tear-down of outdoor concession stand and other mobile food operations.
  • Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of dining room area, restrooms, food court, cash stations, loading dock, exterior patio, and other restaurant areas as needed.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work at a very quick pace in a fast-paced environment.
  • Assist with snow removal from patio decks and tables.
  • Keep up to date with the cleaning schedule as advised by FB Management.
  • Stock and maintain all the janitorial storage supplies.

 

Kitchen Support:

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for cleanliness and upkeep of dish room area, pot sinks, front and back line kitchens, pastry kitchen, loading dock and employee bathrooms.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work at a very quick pace in a hot and humid environment.
  • Keep up to date with the cleaning schedule as advised by Senior Kitchen Management.
  • Ensure the kitchen, line and restaurant floor have the right amount of pots, pans, utensils, china, glassware and silverware at all times during operation hours.
  • Demonstrate ability to set up and breakdown a three compartment sink.
  • Take daily temperature of the final rinse cycle of the machine and maintain the log.
  • Pick up and replenish used pots and pans from the line during service.
  • Stock and maintain all the janitorial storage supplies.
  • Ensure all hand wash stations in the kitchen and bathrooms are stocked with towels, hand wash soap and sanitizer.
  • Assist in garbage removal from the kitchen and breaking down of food storage bins.
  • Sweep, brush, squeeze and mop floor regularly to avoid slips and falls.
  • Ensure the kitchen mats and drains are cleaned daily after service.
  • Always use personal protective equipment while working – mainly protective gloves when using a metal scrubby.
  • Clean out the dish machine regularly during service and de-lime the machine frequently.
  • Attend all trainings and classes as assigned or advised by Supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned by your Supervisor or Senior Management.

 

Qualifications:

  • General awareness of working in a professional kitchen and in a dish area – preferred.
  • Prior Dishwashing experience in a fast paced professional kitchen - preferred.
  • Must possess the following key essential qualities - adaptability, flexibility, positive attitude, even temperament and a keen eye for detail - required.
  • Must be able to lift 40+ lbs - required.
  • Ability to work standing for 8+ hours - required.
  • Flexibility in scheduling, ability to work long hours, weekends and holidays including: Thanksgiving, Christmas Day, December 23rd to January 4th, President’s Day Weekend and other holidays as requested – required.

Product Sales Agent: 

 

Responsibilities Include (but are not limited to):

  • Provide EXCEPTIONAL guest service
  • Accurately and efficiently process lift access products, activity products, and/or ski school products while capturing guest data.
  • Make suitable product recommendations to meet guest needs and business objectives.
  • Handle high volumes of customer interaction while delivering exceptional service; internal & external.
  • Assist and follow through with resolution of guest complaints, concerns and suggestions.
  • Perform daily sales and closing procedures and be held responsible for your end of day point of sale audit.
  • Multi-task - interact with guests and perform computer sales functions at the same time.
  • Create a fun and professional work environment.
  • Follow company/department policies and procedures.
  • Participate in resort and departmental trainings as required.
  • Be willing to cross-train and work in all areas/locations of PSS as required.
  • Take initiative to perform “out of the box” duties/actions for internal and external guests.
  • Perform other duties as appropriate.

 

Qualifications

  • Passionate about guest service and the hospitality/ski industry.
  • Comfortable requesting guest information during every transaction.
  • Punctual and can start work at 7:30am each morning.
  • Possesses exceptional guest relations and communication skills.
  • Has an enthusiastic and outgoing personality.
  • Proficient on Microsoft applications and/or POS software.
  • Able to communicate fluently and effectively in English.
  • Able to retain a high volume of information to answer questions about all resort products.
  • Quick to learn and adjust to product and pricing changes.
  • Possesses strong organizational and teamwork skills.
  • Able to develop a quick rapport with internal and external guests.
  • Able to stay calm and perform well in busy and stressful situations.
  • At least 16 years of age.
