The Mountain Operations Supervisor will be responsible for the timely and fiscal operations of the lifts and Terrain Park and the recruiting, training and oversight of our mountain operations employees.

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Help lead the mountain operations team in adherence to service standards, maintaining a safe work area and activity, efficiently performing daily operating procedures and equipment inspections, managing staffing levels, adapting to changing business needs, providing timely breaks, keeping the team’s energy high, and providing rewards and recognition for our high performing staff. 
  • Help to train employees to provide a high level of proactive guest service in all guest interactions. Constantly evaluate employee performance and provide timely, effective coaching.
  • Lead your team in providing experiences of a lifetime to our guests and fellow staff members. Reward and recognize your staff and proactively work to keep the team energy high all season.
  • Oversee and assist in building, performing maintenance, and repairs for designated activities as needed. Work with maintenance team to ensure a high level of safety and efficient operation of activities.  Supervise the daily opening and closing procedures of activities.  Ensure accurate and timely completion of inspection logs.
  • Make personal and long lasting connections with your fellow employees and with your guests while sharing your love of outdoor adventure.  Engage with our guests and receive guest feedback and special requests. Provide on the spot resolutions and elevate guests’ experiences through our Epic Service Solutions Program.  
  • Act with integrity – always do the right thing, knowing it will lead to the right outcome.  Proactively communicate with Activities Leadership to drive improvements in the department. Set clear expectations with the staff and coach them respectfully to ensure their success.
  • Be a positive advocate for Snow Creek Mountain Resort and the high quality experience and service we provide to our guests. Adapt staffing levels to changing business levels.  Provide timely breaks and monitor staff rotations. Adhere to an operations plan that supports the budget and controls costs while ensuring a quality guest experience.
  • Help keep our mountain clean and looking good. Help our guests enjoy what the great outdoors has to offer, and they may become life-long advocates for our mountains. 
  • Ours is a dynamic work environment.  You’ll have a variety of tasks to do every day, and every day will be a new adventure.  Be willing to perform all other tasks as assigned, and be flexible if changes are made to improve the operation.
  • Help develop and work within the operating budgets for Lift Operations and Terrain Park programs.
  • Utilize company purchase order system.
  • Help to recruit, hire and train personnel according to company policy.
  • Help provide daily scheduling, assignments and supervision for your teams.
  • Weekly payroll processing.
  • Help conduct worker safety program as required by the company.
  • Help conduct and write evaluations for seasonal and regular full time staff prior to season's end and in accordance with HR requirements.
  • Coordinate daily activities of lift operations and terrain park team leads.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications:

  •  
  • College degree in business management, recreation or similar field preferred
  • Minimum of two years supervisory experience with proven strong supervisory and coaching skills
  • High level of competence with computer skill, including frequent data entry and spreadsheet applications.
  • Attentiveness to creating a quality experience for the guests.
  • Previous Resort experience preferred
  • Ability to communicate effectively with guests and co-workers, understanding that areas of direct responsibility dramatically affect the quality of the guest experience.
  • Ability to use, or learn to use, the following equipment: telephone, 2-way radio, computer.
  • Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record.
  • Must be able to or be able to learn to drive snowmobiles, ATV's, UTVs, mini excavator and skid steer.
  • Proven experience in budget preparation and tracking, material requisitioning, recruiting, selecting, training and evaluating required.
  • Ability to perform physical activities that include climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, standing, walking, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing and repetitive motions.
  • Ability to perform heavy work (defined as exerting up to 100 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects).A
  • Ability to work in a potentially hazardous environment with exposure to a variety of physical conditions such as proximity to moving mechanical parts and electrical current.
  • Ability to ski or ride safely and confidently in all snow conditions and in varying types of terrain at all times.
  • Ability to work outside in various weather conditions and extreme cold for periods of more than one hour where temperatures are frequently below 32 degrees or above 90.
  • Welding experience - preferred

 

The expected pay range is $25. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
