Job Summary:

The Executive Steward will manage non-food production areas within our food & beverage department such as the dishwashing and storage areas. Responsibilities include managing inventory and supplies such as glassware and utensils. Dishwashers and other support staff are under the supervision of the executive steward. This role also manages pre-service preparation, kitchen sanitation, and equipment inspection. The Executive Steward is also responsible for creating a positive and productive work environment for all team members. Candidates must have exceptional communication and managerial skills. An ideal candidate for an Executive Steward job description would be someone who is detail-oriented, highly organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the overall cleanliness of the Dish Room, Pot Sinks, Dish machines, Main and Outlet Kitchens, Garbage Disposal Areas, Banquet Kitchen, Kitchen Equipment, China, Flatware and Glassware
  • Ensure that food and beverage equipment and dishwashers are properly cleaned and maintained.
  • Organize the storage areas properly to ensure easy access to equipment and reduce the risk of accidents
  • Training, scheduling, and monitoring the activities of employees to ensure a high standard of cleanliness, hygiene and productivity.
  • Ensure compliance with government regulations on cleanliness and hygiene standards in the public areas of the restaurant or hotel.
  • Maintain records of inventory, breakages, orders, and supplies and make recommendations for the purchase of new equipment or supplies as needed to management.
  • Develop and implement cleaning schedules and protocols to ensure the work is completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ability to read all Banquet Event orders and provide the appropriate supplies
  • Proper distribution of China, Glass & Silverware to various Banquet functions and outlets.
  • Ensure staff members are completing all LIFT trainings.
  • Assist in Time & Labor management of the Dish Room staff

 

Job Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent qualification is required.

  • Prior experience in a similar role in a restaurant or hotel is highly desirable.
  • Outstanding attention to detail; highly organized and capable of multitasking effectively
  • Interpersonal skills to deal effectively with all business contacts
  • Adaptability and openness to change
  • Ability to build a strong team and delegate effectively

 

 

The expected pay range is $23.00. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
