Job Summary: 

To assist in managing the sales, rentals, staff, operational and merchandising functions of the retail/rental to attain maximum profitability, productivity, and a world-class guest experience. Vail resorts core values are necessary to succeed in this function


Job Responsibilities:

  • Direct the daily activities of the department. Plan, organize and control work, communicate goals, and schedule employees
    to ensure proper coverage. Communicate and enforce policies, procedures, rules and standards.
  • Ensure daily meetings are held to communicate with teams.
  • Resolve complaints to brand standards and guest satisfaction maintaining a positive attitude at all times.
  • Maintain and model retail merchandising and rental fleet to cleanliness standards set forth by the Manager.
  • Inspect or have inspected purchases delivered to assure price, quality, consistency and warranties.
  • Maintain inventory of all parts, equipment and supplies to meet or exceed goals.
  • Abide by all safety rules and regulations per corporate policies, State and Federal codes.
  • Manage and meet labor and operational budget plan.
  • Educate/train associates on emergency procedures and safety issues to ensure compliance with all stakeholders.
  • Conduct performance appraisals for and coach development of staff on timely and regular basis.
  • Maintain all company paperwork according to policies and procedures.
  • Assist in onboarding and training of new employees in POS, product knowledge, guest service, rental, and sales.
  • Provide training resources in POS, product knowledge, guest service, resort information, rental set up, and sales.
  • Ensure all safety protocols are being observed at all times.
  • Demonstrate and enforce company policies, guidelines, values, and ethics.
  • Enforce company cash handling policies and additional loss prevention policies and procedures.
  • Other duties as assigned


Job Qualifications: 


  • High School Diploma
  • 3-4 years at a large resort property or equivalent experience in construction, cruise ship and other industries, similar in nature.
  • Valid driving license
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office
  • Read, write, and speak English Fluent
  • Good communication, organizational, and leadership skills, and excellent customer service skills.


  • Accreditation an advantage
  • Familiarity with rental and retail POS systems.
  • Flexibility on the job; ability to adapt quickly and react positively to business needs and changes in strategies.
