Job Summary:

The Retail Lead is a frontline leader responsible for guiding daily retail operations and supporting the overall success of the store. This role serves as a lead resource for the retail team, directing day-to-day activities, ensuring operational standards are maintained, and delivering exceptional guest service. The Retail Lead utilizes advanced operational knowledge to resolve moderately difficult issues, influence team performance, and drive consistency in processes and execution.

 

Through hands-on leadership, the Retail Lead directly impacts guest and employee satisfaction by fostering a positive work environment, ensuring clear communication, and maintaining high standards of service, merchandising, and operational excellence. The ideal candidate possesses strong knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, apparel, and accessories, enabling them to confidently assist guests, provide product recommendations, support team development, and enhance the overall mountain retail experience.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $23.00/hr - $26.88/hr
  • Employment Type: Winter Seasonal 2026/2027

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily retail operations, including opening and closing procedures, and ensure all operational standards are consistently followed.
  • Manage and support sales floor activities, providing direction and assistance to team members throughout the day.
  • Deliver exceptional guest service and set the standard for customer engagement, product knowledge, and service recovery.
  • Communicate attendance concerns and staffing issues to store leadership and coordinate employee breaks in accordance with company policies and state regulations.
  • Partner with operational leadership to ensure merchandising standards, product presentation, and promotional displays are executed consistently.
  • Ensure all team members receive and understand operational updates, promotions, and other key communications.
  • Verify pricing accuracy and ensure all promotional offers, markdowns, and signage are current and correctly displayed.
  • Support inventory accuracy through adherence to inventory processes, stock organization, and discrepancy reporting.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Minimum 1-3 years of retail experience, preferably in a lead, senior associate, or supervisory capacity.
  • Proven ability to deliver exceptional customer service and support daily retail operations.
  • Experience with merchandising, promotional execution, and sales floor management.
  • Basic inventory management experience, including receiving, stock replenishment, and inventory accuracy practices.
  • Working knowledge of ski and snowboard equipment, apparel, accessories, and guest needs; ability to make product recommendations based on skill level and intended use.
  • Proficiency with retail point-of-sale and operational systems and the ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and peak business periods.

 

The expected pay range is $23.00/hr - $26.88/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
