Job Summary:

To function as a team member within Maintenance and other Department. Ability to make proficient decisions while thinking of the customers and resorts interest at all times. Use skill-based knowledge to perform assigned tasks in a professional manner at all times with focus on efficiency and quality of work. This position can cover many departments pertaining to repairs upkeep and preventative maintenance as requested. People skills planning, execution, control, communication are essential in completing tasks efficiency and keeping department advised on work status. Vail resorts core values are vital to succeed in this function.

Job Responsibilities:

• Coordinates and assists in the planting, grooming and maintaining of all ornamental trees, shrubs, flowers, lawns and soft cape features. Landscapers apply fertilizers, pesticides and other types of chemicals to control hazardous insects, weeds and unwanted plants.
• A good Knowledge of plants and plant care and preventative care is vital.
• Assign duties to the landscape and supervise their finished products.
• Hire the best employees for the position following the Vail procedures.
• Train staff in landscaping skills as necessary.
• Evaluate all employee performances and supervise the quality of all finished products.
• Must have a good understanding of sprinkler systems including operations and maintenance.
• Follow, maintain and improve safety procedures for equipment handling, including MSDS and OSHA.
• Lead all aspects of budget and P&L statement.
• Good digital literacy/knowledge is required.
• Valid driver license is required.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

• High School Diploma, GED, or Tech/ Trade School
• Possess a valid driver's license
• 3-4 years in landscaping general maintenance, building work, or lawn care
• Supervisory experience
• Good interpersonal skills
• Good administrative and leadership skills
• Experience with Microsoft Office
• Willing to work with changing shift schedules
• Knowledgeable in MSDA, OSHA and lock out/tag out procedure
