Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician & Certified Pool Operator (CPO) at Mount Snow in Dover, VT is responsible for supporting the maintenance and care of vacation rental properties, commercial resort facilities, and recreational amenities. This position plays a key role in maintaining the quality, safety, and operational readiness of lodging accommodation, owner properties, commercial outlets, and the Health & Fitness Club.
The technician performs a variety of preventive maintenance, repair, and inspection duties while also overseeing the daily operation of resort swimming pools and hot tubs. This position will maintain an active Certified Pool Operator (CPO) certification, which is paid for and renewed annually by the company.
Success in this role requires strong troubleshooting abilities, attention to detail, excellent guest service skills, and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced resort environment.

Job Responsibilities:
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Vacation Rental & Lodging Maintenance.
- Perform general maintenance and repair work throughout managed vacation rental properties, condominiums, and lodging facilities.
- Complete preventive maintenance inspections and identify opportunities to proactively address maintenance concerns.
- Repair and maintain building systems including plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, paint, appliances, fixtures, and HVAC components.
- Respond to guest, homeowner, and operational maintenance requests in a professional and timely manner.
- Assist with property refresh projects, owner-funded improvements, and seasonal maintenance programs.
- Conduct unit inspections and quality assurance walkthroughs to ensure properties meet company standards.
- Support emergency maintenance responses, including after-hours and on-call situations when required.
Commercial Property Support:
- Assist with maintenance and repairs in commercial outlets, resort common areas, offices, retail spaces, and employee facilities.
- Support preventative maintenance programs for commercial equipment and building systems.
- Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when specialized repairs are required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, inventory, and replacement parts necessary for daily operations.
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with applicable safety standards and company policies.
Health & Fitness Club & Pool Operations:
- Serve as the property's Certified Pool Operator (CPO).
- Conduct daily opening and closing procedures for pools, spas, and recreational facilities.
- Monitor and maintain proper water chemistry, filtration systems, pumps, heaters, and associated equipment.
- Perform and document required chemical testing and operational inspections.
- Maintain pool decks, locker rooms, and recreation areas in a clean, safe, and presentable condition.
- Coordinate routine maintenance and repairs to pool and spa systems.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and health department regulations governing aquatic facilities.
- Maintain required pool operation records, logs, and documentation.
- Assist recreation, spa, and fitness staff as needed to support daily guest operations.
Safety & Compliance:
- Follow all company safety standards and procedures.
- Participate in required safety training and certifications
- Maintain accurate maintenance records and work orders.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, resort operating standards, and local building codes.
- Immediately report safety concerns, equipment failures, or operational risks to management.
Guest & Owner Service:
- Interact professionally with guests, homeowners, HOA representatives, and resort staff.
- Provide prompt and courteous service while maintaining a positive and solution-oriented attitude.
- Support the company's commitment to delivering exceptional guest and homeowner experiences.
Job Requirements:
- Minimum 2 years of maintenance experience in hospitality, vacation rental, condominium, facilities, commercial property, or related environment.
- Working with knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, painting, drywall, and general building systems.
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and building equipment issues.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to lift to 50 pounds and work both indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Availability to work weekends, holidays, evenings, and participate in an on-call rotation as needed.
The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $27.70/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
