Job Summary:

The Specialist - Skilled: Equipment Operations is a key member of the Mountain Operations team at Mad River Mountain. This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of mountain machinery and equipment while supporting all aspects of mountain operations. The role requires strong mechanical aptitude, attention to safety, and the ability to perform physical labor in a variety of outdoor conditions throughout the year.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $22.00/hr - $28.60/hr
  • Employment Type: Year Round 
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available
  • Minimum Age: At least 18 years of age

Job Responsibilities

  • Operate all equipment utilized by the Mountain Operations team, including heavy equipment, utility vehicles, snow grooming equipment, and other specialized machinery.
  • Monitor equipment condition and performance, ensuring all issues are identified, documented, communicated, and addressed promptly with Vehicle Maintenance personnel.
  • Perform physical labor as required to support the broad range of projects and responsibilities within Mountain Operations.
  • Assist with all aspects of mountain operations, including facility maintenance, infrastructure improvements, construction projects, and operational support activities.
  • Perform maintenance, installation, and repair of mountain signage, fencing, and other operational infrastructure.
  • Complete general maintenance tasks to support resort operations and maintain a safe environment for guests and employees.
  • Follow directions effectively and work collaboratively as a member of a team while maintaining a positive and professional attitude.
  • Accurately troubleshoot equipment and operational issues and assist in implementing corrective actions.
  • Support winter snow surface operations, including snow grooming activities and related mountain preparation tasks.
  • Maintain a strong commitment to safety by following company policies, operating procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Participate in training programs and skill-development opportunities as assigned.
  • Maintain equipment cleanliness and conduct routine inspections before and after operation.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Job Requirements:

  • Experience operating heavy equipment or similar machinery preferred.
  • Basic mechanical knowledge and troubleshooting ability.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Valid driver's license required.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions and flexible schedules.

 

The expected pay range is $22.00/hr - $28.60/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
