Job Summary:

The Snow Removal/Manager oversees and operates snow and ice removal equipment to clear roadways and parking lots or wherever deemed necessary at Kirkwood Mountain resort. Will be responsible for up to 14 employees in the winter and summer.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Location: Kirkwood, CA
  • Expected Pay Range: $66,560.00 - $80,710.00 + annual bonus 
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Full Time / Year Round
  • Skill Level: Advanced

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Train and develop all operators continually throughout the season.
  • Oversee the performance, conduct and quality of work performance during each shift.
  • Delegate projects from the provided work list to crew members.
  • Minimize down time through basic preventive maintenance procedures.
  • Ability to manage team members in a productive and ever-changing atmosphere.
  • Composing and administering regular performance evaluations, coaching sessions and as needed, disciplinary conversations.
  • Promote safety on the job for employees and guests by leading scheduled safety meetings.
  • Formulate work schedules and priority lists on a daily basis.
  • Attendance at all scheduled department meetings and gatherings.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to  interact with all mountain departments, and support for mountain resort operations
  • Oversee water quality operations, winter snowmelt runoff, culvert inspections, maintenance, and BMP’s around the valley.
  • Ensuring compliance with all state, federal, company and department policies and procedures including safety guidelines.
  • Road repairs to KMD and parking lots
  • Work with and maintain a good relationship with the outside agencies
  • Adhere to labor and Op-Ex budgets
  • Oversee all snow removal and snow storage operations, ensuring the roads and parking lots are plowed and ready for public by 7am everyday
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Qualifications:

Requirements:

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Clean driver record and driver’s license.
  • Ability to speak, read and communicate clearly in English.
  • Ability to be reached for deployment at early hours.
  • Ability to lift/carry 50 lbs.
  • Ability to do strenuous work for up to 12 hours.
  • Professionalism and strong guest service skills, attention to detail and timeliness.
  • Flexible schedule required during peak times throughout the year.
  • Previous snow removal experience.
  • Previous supervisory experience.
  • Basic computer skills (Microsoft Office, PeopleSoft) required
  • Previous experience budgeting at departmental level Strongly preferred

 

Preferred skills:

  • Familiarity with snow blower operation and/or maintenance.
  • Possess a basic understanding of local weather patterns.
  • Worked for a ski resort for at least one season.

 

 

The expected pay range is $66,560.00 - $80,710.00 + annual bonus. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
