Job Summary
Diagnose, maintain and repair Ford Transit passenger vans, Ford Expedition SUVs and Mercedes Sprinters. Full proficiency in shop diagnostics, maintenance and repair of gasoline and diesel engines, electrical systems, tune-ups, and the inspection/repair of braking and suspension systems. Welding skills preferred. Understand and adhere to occupational health and safety standards.

Job Responsibilities
- Proficient in all entry mechanic duties and has the ability to be self-directed with diagnosis, operations and protocols
- Proficient in the use of Technical Diagnostic Equipment.
- Ability to maintain a positive and professional attitude towards other departments and maintain good relationships with co-workers
- Understand and communicate all regulations related to shop operations; OHSA regulations, Hazard Communications Sheets, Hazmat regulations, and all shop and in grounds safety policies
- Has a working knowledge of how to enter VMRS codes in Dossier.
- Has the ability to read and understand wiring diagrams
- Understands, inspects, services, and repairs all aspects of the Anti-lock braking system in the fleet vehicles
- Understands current model year emission control devices and testing
- Qualified bumper to bumper general line technician
- Is eager to try new things and learn new skills
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- High School, or GED and Automotive trade or vocational schooling
- 2-3 years previous mechanic experience
- DOT Driver Qualification required
- Automotive on-board diagnostics systems/VRMS system knowledge
- English proficiency
- Diagnostic skills
- Proficient welding preferred
- ASE certification in brakes and/or steering & suspension preferred
- Previous light and/or medium duty vehicle, diagnostic and repair experience preferred
- CDL not required
The expected pay range is $20.00 - $26.44. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
