This is a position for candidates with a mechanical aptitude and a willingness to learn and be taught. Responsible for assembling bikes and assisting other mechanics with repairs as requested, including walk-in repairs and basic tunes.  May be asked to provide recommendations of products to enhance the customer’s experience. Responsible for assisting/performing winter service tech responsibilities (i.e. equipment tuning/service Ski, Snowboard, etc.)

ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Assemble and tune bikes using the proper tools while following all safety procedures
  • Provide customers with the highest level of service
  • Gather and respond to service requests and ensure it is properly and safely completed to company standards and customers’ satisfaction
  • Protect company liability in regard to services performed
  • Ensure service paperwork is completed legibly, accurately, and filed accordingly
  • Ensure all proper housekeeping methods and overall cleanliness of the shop is adhered to
  • Provides support of Ski/Snowboard service and repair as needed
  • May include other duties (but not limited to) cashiering, operating electronic service tickets, summer and winter rentals and retail sales

 
Job Requirements:

  • Display mechanical aptitude to be able to perform bike builds, bike safety inspection, maintenance and repairs
  • Within 30 days* - can demonstrate ability to properly build bikes, safety check and perform Basic tune to company standards; performance within 30 days will be evaluated weekly*
  • Passion for cycling / bicycles / ski / snowboard / outdoors
  • Perform store operating duties outside of normal duties as requested
  • Ability to stand and move in an active, team-oriented environment for extended periods
  • Ability to communicate with co-workers and guests in accurate spoken and written English
  • Basic computer skills
  • Commitment to exceptional customer service
  • Adhere to company policies and guidelines
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends
  • May include performing bike maintenance, safety inspection, adjustments and fitting of rental fleet


Physical Demands:

  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time, operate hand and power tools, lift and carry bikes and parts, skis, snowboards and other equipment
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds (medium lifting)
  • Ability to bend, walk, stand, sit, lift, reach above shoulders
  • Ability to communicate via phone and radio

The expected pay range is $20 - $21.35. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
