The Advanced Bike Mechanic/Service Technician will be responsible for performing quality repairs on customer’s bikes and winter sports equipment, including walk-in repairs and overhauls. Completes diagnosis of customer’s equipment and provides repair estimates. Schedules customer appointments and communicates clear and realistic expectations. Recommends products to enhance the customer’s experience. Possesses advanced knowledge of bike and winter repair practices and procedures. Performs the most complex work within the job function, which requires extensive experience, background and/or training. Functions independently with little or no guidance. May train new and existing associate positions. Potential for FT employment by incorporating winter tech into roll

Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Provide customers with the highest level of technical service
- Gather and respond to service requests and ensure it is properly and safely completed to the customer’s satisfaction
- Protect company liability in regard to services performed
- Ensure service paperwork is completed legibly, accurately, and filed accordingly
- Tune bikes using the proper tools while following all safety procedures including:
- Suspension maintenance
- Hydraulic Brake Service, maintenance, and rebuilds
- E-bike service and maintenance
- Wheel building
- Frame up bike building including accurate ordering of components
- Electronic shifting service
- Ensure all proper housekeeping methods and overall cleanliness of the shop is adhered to
- Ensure special order parts and warranty items are handled in a timely fashion and proper documentation is completed and organized
- Complete winter service work as business demands change
- Be willing to complete store duties outside of normal job function based on demands of the business
- Remain current on technical information through attending classes, clinics and offered training
- May be responsible for ordering tools, shop equipment, vendor warranty items or special orders based on shop needs
- Assist in the training and on-boarding of new and current bike mechanics/service technicians
- Assist Service Manager in holding staff accountable for legible, complete and accurate form completion, quality of work and all policy and procedures
- Responsible for increasing sales, units per transaction, transaction size, and levels of store profitability
- May include other duties (but not limited to) cashiering, operating electronic service tickets, summer and winter rentals and retail sales
JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- HS Diploma or GED Equivalent
- At least 2 years relevant work experience required
- Show mechanical aptitude to perform tunes and repairs with allocated times within 30 days of hire
- Obtain and Maintain Current Vendor Certifications
- Basic computer skills with ability to learn
- English fluency
- Excellent customer service skills
- Ability to handle multiple customers and projects at one time
- Ability to manage and provide direction when necessary
- Average math skills preferred
- Commitment to exceptional customer service
- Adhere to company policies and guidelines
- Ability to work a flexible schedule; including nights, holidays and weekends
Physical Demands:
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time, operate hand and power tools, lift and carry bikes and parts, skis, snowboards and other equipment
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds (medium lifting)
- Ability to bend, walk, stand, sit, lift, reach above shoulders
- Ability to communicate via phone and radio
The expected pay range is $20.00 - $24.49. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
