Job Specifications: 

  • Starting Wage: $15.50 per hour
  • Effective October 2022 minimum wage will be increased to $20 per hour
  • Shift & Schedule Availability: Part Time
  • Skill Level: Entry

 

We are looking for a candidate that is positive, self-motivated, detailed oriented, and can lead a quality staff. This is a unique opportunity to join our team at Pennsylvania’s Outdoor Adventure Headquarters, Seven Springs Mountain Resort, Inc. Our axe throwing instructors will need to deliver a safe, entertaining and legendary experience for our guests. You must be willing to work holidays, nights and weekends.

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Include the Following:

  • Deliver a captivating and personalized axe throwing instruction at the beginning of each session and offer additional training and coaching throughout each guest experience
  • Assisting the guests in learning to throw an axe safely and correctly, so they will be able to enjoy the activity themselves
  • Display friendly, positive, and professional attitude with guests, fellow team members, and supervisors
  • To fulfill our “safety, fun, and learning” motto, instructors must be responsible, reliable, professional, high-energy, have a great sense of humor, and a creative mind
  • Facilitate and keep score of games and tournaments and keep guests engaged
  • Ensuring all equipment is up to standard and safe during your shift, ensuring that all customers are following our safety rules and procedures at all times, and delivering first response if necessary
  • Perform equipment maintenance by changing out boards and sharpening axes
  • Keep lanes clear of wood chips and tables clear of excess garbage
  • Clean the area, axes and all surfaces between groups
  • Exercise proper judgment to create a safe environment for guests
  • Performs duties of those supervised as needed
  • Other duties may be assigned as necessary

  • Clear communication and active listening skills
  • Safety conscious with strong attention to detail
  • Leadership skills, able to manage group dynamics
  • Take initiative to prevent problems before they occur

 

Physical Demands - Must be physically able to perform the following:

  • Standard physical demands should include a handful of bullet points.
  • Stand; walk; sit; talk or hear and taste or smell.
  • The staff member must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception.

Work Environment – The following environment is characteristic of what an employee may encounter while performing essential duties and responsibilities:

  • Walking surfaces in kitchen areas are frequently wet and slippery.
  • Noise levels are moderate.
  • Work days and hours, as well as number of hours required will vary, with emphasis on weekends and holidays.

 

Personal Protective Equipment Recommended & Required

  • PPE should have at least one bullet point and up to 5 for safety sensitive positions.
  • Recommended – proper footwear for wet walking surfaces.
