Job Summary

The Sr. IT Manager, Integration position will be responsible for managing and leading Vail Resorts’ Enterprise Integration strategy and application architecture.  This may include BizTalk, .net, SharePoint, SQL Server, SSIS, SSRS, Umbraco, WCF, and version control.  This includes overall design and maintenance of department applications as they relate to enterprise integration.  Primary job activities include managing a small team that supports critical middleware and interfaces and will include concept, design, re-design, and implementing enterprise integration solutions.  This includes leveraging messaging, enterprise services, and data integration.


Job Responsibilities

  • Manage small team of integration developers that support enterprise-wide middleware and integration solutions.  Will also be responsible for enterprise collaboration tools.
  • Handle day-to-day supervisor tasks, mid-year and yearly performance evaluations, coaching and mentoring team, planning and prioritizing workload, and keeping a strong relationship with business partners.
  • Enterprise Integration Development
    • Architect, Design and maintain enterprise integration applications using Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010 and other integration application solutions
    • Evaluate business processes and identify opportunity areas to improve business efficiency through business process integration, automation and optimization.
    • Evaluate enterprise-wide impact of technology components for workflow, integration, user experience, data and reporting
    • Find efficiencies in current processes to allow for smooth migrations and updates
    • Maintain a support architecture that can allow the business reliable resolutions
  • Technical Architecture
    • Determine the appropriate patterns and technologies to meet project requirements.
    • Mentor team members in new technologies and new ways of application of solutions.
    • Create technical proof of concepts and level of effort documents for new integration projects.
    • Provide expertise and insights on an as-needed basis on specific subject matter areas, such as best practices for Enterprise Service Bus, data and information architecture, security, cloud capabilities, etc.
  • Platform Support
    • Manage the troubleshooting and root cause analysis of issues with existing applications and production transaction processing.
  • Configuration Management (CM)
    • Deploy proper deployment techniques for release packages to test/UAT and production environments.
    • Improve existing CM processes as required.
  • Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)
    • Guide the overall architecture planning, selection and prioritization, and roadmap development
    • Support continuous integration activities related to automated builds, deployments, and testing.
    • Follow existing SDLC processes and improve as required.
    • Perform performance tuning and optimization.
  • Resource Management
    • Provide basic levels of effort associated with work requests.
    • Collaborates to provide leadership and direction to the team, removes project barriers, champions the project, and participate in regular executive status meetings


  • Minimum Qualifications
  • 8+ years over all IT professional experience including:
    • Architect/design experience at an enterprise level
    • 3+ years hands-on experience developing enterprise integration solutions with various systems
    • 3+ years hands-on experience with developing enterprise services
    • Experience working with a diverse set of business units
  • Microsoft BizTalk Server 2010
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) 2008/2012/2014
  • WCF / .NET 4.0
  • XML, XSL, XPath, XSD
  • Microsoft Visual Studio 2010 (C#, VB, etc.)


Preferred Qualifications

  • 1 to 2 years of prior supervisor or manager experience
  • Experience in developing enterprise integration solutions leveraging messaging and enterprise services
  • Experience with JIRA
  • Experience in the snow sports or hospitality industry
  • Experience with Subversion source control
