Job Summary:
We are seeking a visionary and strategic leader to oversee our Events and Competition Services department, driving the ideation, planning, and execution of a diverse array of resort events we have at Hunter Mountain. While most events occur during the winter season, this role will also be instrumental in expanding our event offerings throughout spring, summer, and fall. This role will oversee a dedicated team and collaborate across departments to deliver memorable, safe, and financially sound experiences for our guests.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage: $27.00/hr - $31.91/hr
  • Employment Type: Year Round (10-month)
  • Shift Type: Full Time hours available

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Develop and implement a year-round event strategy aligned with resort goals
  • Responsible for activating all current events booked on resort calendar, on-hill and off-hill
  • Lead the creative process for new event concepts and enhancements to existing events
  • Hire, train, schedule, and manage the performance of the events team to meet the goals of the department
  • Foster a positive and inclusive, high-performance culture focused on guest experience and safety
  • Manage the events department’s financial performance and accountable for department’s financial results
  • Execute contracts with third parties in accordance with company legal standards.
  • Track expenses, revenue, and ROI for each event
  • Work closely with departments such as SRS, Marketing, Operations, Food & Beverage, PSS, and Health & Safety to ensure seamless event execution
  • Serve as the primary liaison for internal and external stakeholders involved in events.
  • Ensure all events meet safety standards for guests and staff
  • Ensure that industry standards / requirements are met in the construct of all race venues and activities (e.g. B-Net, Homologation, etc.)
  • Maintain compliance with local regulations and resort policies
  • Conduct post-event evaluations to identify areas for improvement & continued growth
  • Perform other responsibilities as assigned that align with the scope and impact of the role


Job Requriments:

  • Experience in event management (preferably in a resort or hospitality setting) and budget management and financial planning experience
  • Strong leadership and team management skills; Supervisory experience
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities; attention to detail and professional conduct is necessary
  • Self-starter, ambitious and multi-tasker
  • Able to withstand inclement weather conditions for extended periods of time
  • Able to lift and carry 75 pounds in a rugged alpine environment
  • Able to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays
  • Passion for outdoor recreation and guest experience
  • Competent Skier/Rider
  • Valid Driver’s License
  • Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office / MS Outlook

 

The expected pay range is $27.00/hr - $31.91/hr. This is the pay range we reasonably expect to pay for this position. Individual compensation decisions are based on a variety of factors.
