Job Summary:

Heavenly Ski Patrol's primary responsibility is to provide and promote a safe environment for our guests and employees as well as to provide exceptional guest service. Ski Patrol is responsible for executing essential guest service functions such as responding to medical emergencies on the mountain, transporting injured guests off the mountain to the appropriate facility, and general hill safety. Ski patrol is also responsible for enforcing safe skiing and riding practices and enforcement of the Skier's and Rider's Responsibility Code. Special circumstances include chairlift and gondola evacuation, avalanche control, and explosives handling. Other duties can be assigned as needed. Ski patrol is a highly visible role on the mountain with a great deal of guest interaction.

 

Job Specifications:

  • Starting Wage:  $21 / hour
  • Shift & Schedule Availability:  Full Time

 

Job Responsibilities:

  • Dispatch ski patrollers and mountain safety to emergency and non-emergency events 
  • Effectively communicate with all departments and relay essential information
  • Present excellent customer service to all guests as well as a positive attitude and assistance to all resort employees
  • Act as communications center for department via radio and phone in order to monitor and coordinate daily activities, and emergency responses. Monitor all patrol radio communication to keep up to date on activities and to dispatch calls and messages
  • Communicate with outside entities, i.e. other local ski areas, county dispatch, and air ambulances
  • Ensuring accurate completion of all guest-related Enablon entries
  • Prepare, update and maintain various reports such as daily response logs, snowmobile usage logs, and ambulance call logs
  • Work in a flexible and adaptable manner in order to assist in and complete all tasks
  • Perform various clerical tasks related to department operations
  • Assist in training new employees and crossing train co-workers
  • Continuing on the job training
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Job Requirements:

  • Strong computer skills (Microsoft Office and Web-Based Programs)
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to learn a wide variety of information about department operations quickly
  • Ability to make decisions quickly and calmly in emergency situations
  • Able to multi-task in an effective manner
  • Knowledge of Heavenly trails and lifts (Preferred)
  • Ability to walk to and from on hill dispatch office on snowy uneven terrain in winter like conditions
  • Must be able to speak, read, and write in fluent English 

 

 

The budgeted range starts at $21.  Actual pay will be adjusted based on experience.
